Chris Daughtry talks about missing home while on the road

Former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry is living his lifelong dream of touring the country in support of his album Daughtry – but all that time away from home comes at a price, Chris says.

It’s tough. There’s a lot of missing out. There’s so much I don’t know about my kids when I get home. ‘Oh, I didn’t know you were that tall!’ [Laughs] So you want to take advantage of the times you are home. I don’t want to look back and think that I missed opportunities to make memories with my kids.

Chris, 28, has two children with wife Deanna Robertson — 11-year-old Hannah and 9-year-old Griffin.

i thought deanna’s children were with a previous partner and that now that she and chris are married, he’s helping her raise them? not that that makes him less of their father or anything of course!

Sarah’s note: Yes, but he refers to them as his kids, so we do too.

I am not 100% sure, but I thought that I may have read before that one of their kids was adopted. Not totally sure on that one…..

Yeah Griffin is now Griffin Daughtry because he doesn’t have a dad I believe, but Hannah’s dad is still in her life so Chris didn’t adopt her.

Hannah is 11, and Griffin is 9. Chris adopted Griffin after the death of Griffin’s biological father.

Chris is from a town very close to here. He is actually the children’s stepdad, but has always been a wonderful father to them. He married an older woman with two children, an amazing task for such a young man (he was very young at the time) and the family has been seen as nothing but happy and Chris a very attentive and doting dad. I believe his dedication to his family and his loyalty to his wife (esp now that he has been hit with national stardom) is the sexiest thing about him. Certain celebs like Brad Pitt and Will Smith are all the sexier because of being good fathers.

it doesnt matter if hannah or griffin have different dads and chris is not hte biological one he is the one there raising them am=nd thats what count b/c both of there baby’s need a dad even if he isnt bioogical. Chris is the one that is there and he is talking care of them. my dad died so that means i dont have a dad but although my mom married this dude and he is my dad know but not biological and i claim him unless he makes me mad. but other than that he is there, he takes care of me, and he ;loves me like no one else can. And i bet Chris is trhere to do the same for those kids he is raising. Im sorry but i dont like ppl that judge b/c someone isnt the biological father.
