Angela Kinsey has no worries about maternity jeans thanks to mom

Angelakinsey011501_cbbThe Office’s Angela Kinsey, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Warren Lieberstein, hasn’t had to worry about maternity jeans thanks to her mom. The 36-year-old revealed in a new interview with the girls at Pinks and Blues that her mom has been altering her old jeans to make them work with the pregnancy!

My mom, the fabulous Bertie Kinsey, is an amazing seamstress. She quilts and sews and is so crafty. We call her the Southern Martha Stewart! For Christmas I brought home a bunch of my old jeans and she cut out the front of them and put a softy stretchy material for my expanding belly. That’s working for now. Thanks Mom!

Speaking of fashion, Angela has been spotted attending a number of events lately, but just how has being pregnant changed her pre-event beauty regimen?

This question made me laugh because for the SAG Awards I had to have my hair and makeup gals fasten my high heel straps! I couldn’t reach them! My beauty regimen other than that hasn’t changed. Well maybe there is more snacking!

And while the actress would love to get back to work at The Office, she is enjoying the time off the writer’s strike has provided.

Well being pregnant has kept me busy. There is so much I want to do to my little fixer upper house before the baby comes. I feel like there are not enough hours in the day!

Angela and Warren found out that their new baby, who is due to arrive on May 9th, is a little girl, but the mom-to-be had an inkling that it was going to be a daughter beforehand.

In most of my dreams, my baby was a girl. So maybe that was a form of intuition!

Ha, my mom did the same thing for me, but with 2 pairs of black dress pants I really needed for work! Thanks Mom!

I had the weird dreams too. We didn’t find out the sex of the baby until the delivery, but I kept dreaming about little boys, and sure enough I had a son.

Why do women destroy clothing they own when there perfectly good maternity clothing EVERYWHERE. The altered clothing is destroyed and can’t be resused, why is that not a waste of money but maternity clothing is? I don’t get that.

Well for me, I couldn’t find maternity work pants that weren’t polyester or a cheap looking material, except at pea in the pod, and I can’t afford to shop there much. I think I got two shirts and a skirt from them my entire pregnancy.

But I had 2 pairs of pants that didn’t fit exactly right pre-pregnancy, so I had them in the back of my closet, and when my mom offered to mess with them I jumped at the chance. I didn’t care about the pants anymore, because the fit wasn’t great and I wouldn’t wear them again post-pregnancy anyway.

Love her! What a fun interview.

BJ, where did you get from that interview that buying new maternity clothes is a waste of money?

- Mary K on

Yes she said she brought some old jeans to be altered, not new ones.

Angela is very small and has admitted to having to buy kids size clothes sometimes. They may not come in maternity sizes. (That was written into an episode of The Office in season 3)

Personally, BJ, I don’t think it is anyone’s business but Angela’s, if she wants to alter her own clothes.

She’s absolutely adorable.

All I can say is, I’m jealous…I wish the only reason I can’t wear my pre-pregnancy jeans anymore at 7 months was because of the belly! Obviously Angela doesn’t have a problem with a bigger butt and thighs- sigh :(

Doesn’t that mean after the baby is born she has to buy a ton of new jeans? Hahahaha.

Sarah’s note: No. She said she brought old pairs to her mother.

- Amber S on

She said in a recent blog she’s only gained about 106 pounds…she’s a small woman who most likely has to shop for itty bitty clothes. Give her a break.

Anyways, she’s looked sooo cute throughout this whole pregnancy, go Angela!
