Kate Beckinsale celebrates Lily's birthday

Actress Kate Beckinsale, 34, celebrates her daughter Lily Mo’s (middle) ninth birthday on Monday, February 4th with a trip to the fire station in Santa Monica, CA. A few of Lily’s friends joined in for the fun. Lily, whose dad is Michael Sheen, was actually born on January 31st.

Cute. I like the fire hats. I think the kid’s outfits are too sophisticated for their age though. A 9 year old shouldn’t be wearing the latest teenage fashions. They should just be kids, wearing the goofy stuff most 9 year olds wear.

I don’t understand what is so “sophisticated” about the girls’ outfits. They’re wearing sneakers and jeans and puffy coats. What should 9 year olds wear?

Very cute that they wanted to go to the fire station. I like what the girls I wearing, I remember when I was 9 years old that I wanted to wear what the olders girls were wearing. I think that kids and teenagers seemed to be more covered now then when I was a teenager.

Kate Beckinsale has got to be the celebrity mom who dresses the sexiest even for everyday outings. I wish I had the body to dress like that! Her daughter is adorable and I don’t think she or her friends are dresses inappropriately at all

If I had a body like Kate I wouldn’t hesitate to dress like she does. I also agree with the other posters, it was nice 9 year olds wanted to go to the fire station.

Wow, those are some pants! I know I’m in a different world here in Wisconsin because the other mothers here would really be giving me some looks if I showed up at story time wearing those! And I’m sure the firemen were giving her some looks too!

I didn’t mean that they are dressed inappropriately. Not that at all, I just meant that their appearance makes them seem too aware of fashion trends for 9 yr-olds, which makes me sad, because awareness of that usually kicks in at age 12 or so, and you’re blissfully mismatched when you’re 9. Also, the clothes are not kid-like and flowery and colorful like kids usually like to wear. But I’ll admit I’m being very nit-picky. You can expect an actress like Kate Beckinsale to dress her daughter in the latest fashions.

I think Kate & Lily have to be one of the closest mother-daughter couples,just like Teri Hatcher & Emerson Rose. It adorable to see them together. I do wish I had her body. If I did, I’d probably be proud to wear similar clothes.

I don’t see anything wrong with what the girls are wearing. Of course, having a mother like Kate who is very fashion forward would rub off on her daughter & wearing black has been a “in” thing to do for a long while now.

My own little cousins are 8,9,& 10. They dress very similar to these girls, which is pretty much covered up compared to a lot of the Brstz-like clothes they make for girls. My sister teaches 3rd-8th grade science, so I’ve seen some little girls dressed completely inappropriate in comparison.

Kate does look beautiful, and if I had that body, I would show it off, too! Still, I think there’s a time and place. I just don’t think I would be comfortable running around in those boots at a birthday party. But to each her own.
