Opera singer Anna Netrebko expecting

Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko, 36, has announced that she and fiance, Uruguayan baritone Erwin Schrott, 35, are expecting their first child this fall. In a released statement, Anna said,

We are both very, very happy that soon there will be three of us.

Due to the pregnancy, Anna has pulled out of Charles Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet at the Salzburg Festival in August and talks are underway for future projects. Her manager Jeffrey Vanderveen stated in an email that,

Bottom line is: She will sing as long as her doctors say it is fine. When she comes back is a life decision [and a vocal decision] that she is considering now.

We recently saw her in the Met’s production of Romeo & Juliette. She was remarkable. Her beauty is the first thing you notice, but she is also a generational talent. Her performing abilities are unmatched. And her boyfriend is really hot, lol.
