NHL player Ryan Kesler and wife expecting a baby girl

NHL player for the Vancouver Canucks, Ryan Kesler, 23, and his wife Andrea are expecting their first child — a baby girl — in May. Ryan has a blog site and he shares some of the excitement they are feeling as they prepare to be new parents. In his January 5 entry he writes:

Anyway, Christmas was good, very quiet but good. It was just my wife and I but it’ll be the last Christmas for just the two of us. We’re expecting a baby girl around mid May and we’re very excited.

We’re first time parents and my mom’s going to be a grandma for the first time so she’s super excited and of course, like all parents, instilling some parental wisdom wherever and whenever she can. We’ve also stocked up on baby books for names and the “what to expect when you’re expecting” books. We’re trying to plan ahead and be prepared and all that.

That’s so EXCITING!!!! I’m a DIE HARD Canuck’s fan, go Canucks! Kesler, like the rest of the team, is awesome, on ice and off. So many babies for my Canucks this year. CONGRATS RYAN & ANDREA!!!

I was just gonna say that I am also a diehard Canucks fan…and that I have always liked Ryan Kesler, but a few months ago I was in the Vancouver Airport in the same bookstore as Ryan and his wife, and she was like “oh look at this!” to something in a magazine, and he Roughly grabbed her arm and was like “we have to go now!” and like tore her away…ever since then I don’t like him as much. But babies are still exciting! haha

Congrats to the Keslers! Ryan’s been having an amazing season, and I bet he’ll be a great daddy!

Yeah, the Canucks are having such a baby boom this year… Bieksa’s wife had a boy (Cole) in October, Weaver’s wife had a boy (I think) in December(?), Daniel Sedin’s wife was due on Sunday with their second child, and Luongo’s wife is expecting a girl in April. Can you tell I’m obsessed with the Canucks? =P haha

Congrats to Kesler! Both Luongo and Kesler due with baby girls in May… I don’t mean to sound like a selfish fan, but I hope they don’t miss too much hockey! But I know that their families are the most important.

There is just something in GMplace’s water this season it seems…atleast they are scoring at home, due to the lack of scoring on the ice . Congrats kesler!
