Elisabeth Hasselbeck on one-on-one time and overscheduling

View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 30, and her husband, Arizona Cardinals player Tim Hasselbeck, are parents to Grace Elisabeth, 2 ½, and Taylor Thomas, 11 weeks. In her latest blog for Dreft, Elisabeth discusses having one-on-one time with her daughter and the dangers of over-scheduling — losing board games to your toddler!

Finally! A date! With Grace! We hit Broadway running, as Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ filled our afternoon with magic. I had Grace on my lap for most of it, and for two hours, my otherwise independent little girl was my baby again. Just to have one-on-one time was the greatest gift.

This week is going to be incredibly hectic, as I definitely did not practice the power of ‘no, ‘and over-scheduled myself. Still no sleep in sight, as Taylor insists on feeding three times between 6 and midnight, and again at night. I don’t really mind, as he takes breaks between gulps to give me big coos and smiles!!! Thankfully Tim has been around to help me out with the nighttime feed. I am still trying to figure out how to manage days that are no longer mine with deadlines that definitely are!

I wish I could write more, but I have been spotted by Grace, who wants to play ‘Memory’ ($9). The scary thing is that, given the fact that she is much more well rested — I will most likely lose.

PS: Grace is becoming quite the little photographer… she took this with our digital camera and it is one of my favorite moments!

Is it just me, or does Taylor look like he needs a little neck support?!!?

I can’t believe Grace took this photo!! That is too cute! Now only if my mother could learn to point and shoot cuz her photos are always SO off target lol.

umm, great picture of Elizabeth, but pretty scary of little Taylor! He’s looking a little wobbly there…

Taylor is adorable, but she should support his head and neck a little bit more.

Haha, most parents/grown-ups lose when they’re playing Memory with a child.
