Christina Applegate: 'I feel complete when I'm with babies and kids"

Actress Christina Applegate has accomplished a number of things in her career including success with television shows and movies, but she still has not done one thing that she envisions — motherhood.  The 36-year-old sat down with Redbook to discuss her life and when asked what else she would like to do in her life, she replied,

I want to have kids.  That’s something I really need to get on soon.  Which is difficult in the current situation, but it can be done.

The current situation that Christina is talking about is the fact that she is single.  She and her husband, actor Johnathon Schaech, divorced in August of last year. However, Christina is not totally against being a single mother.

I always saw [having kids] with a partner, but now I don’t know.  I want kids more than I want even that. [Laughs] I feel complete when I’m with babies and kids.

I want to have that experience in this lifetime, of raising a human being and watching them grow and move on and become and adult.  So who knows?  If I end up doing it on my own, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

My only advice is this: it doesn’t get any easier as you get older. Go for it while you still have the energy.

good for her. life is short, and you need to do what is going to make you happy. if she wants kids, you don’t need a man. if she can offer a comfortable, stable and loving environment(which it seems like she can) then go for it. any child would be lucky to have her as a mom.
