Making an example out of a star here, but Xtina’s c/section IS our business. The United State’s c/s rate leades industrialized countries…and so does our maternal mortality and infant mortality rates. See a connection here?

If your vaginal birth was “brutal”, “awful” etc, chances are your birth was too medically managed. Were you induced? Given pit, and epidural, strapped to a bed, denied food and water and expected to run the equivalent of a marathon? If your baby wa ready to come out…it would! GET A CLUE WOMEN.

Someday when there are no more vaginal births in this country, you will all wonder what happened to “our business”.

Okay, I will make it perfectly clear and use another exmaple:

Here in the UK it is very common for the wives of proffesional footballers to arrange ELECTIVE SECTIONS to fit in around their husbands football games so the birth doesnt interfere with the football fixtures.

THIS IS THE TYPE OF THING I AM DISAGREEING WITH.

Oh, and Dana, I also gave birth vaginally without any drugs, and do not expect any awards, however, I am very proud that I did it and I believe that the way I gave birth was the BEST WAY for ME and MY CHILD.

It is possible that Christina had something like placenta previa, which would have prompted her doc to schedule a c-section months in advance. Japan’s Princess Kiko had a c-section for this reason.

As for Brit scheduling Jayden’s c-section, since Sean was born via c-section (for what ever reason), her doc probably recommended another one. Most docs won’t do a VBAC anymore. Knowing this, I see no problem with her selecting a date that doesn’t conflict with her other son’s birthday. I was induced with my third child and selected a date that was two days after my dad’s birthday and two days before my friends birthday.

Ada- Britney herself said, before Sean Preston was born, that she wanted a C-section because she didn’t want to go through the pain of a natural birth. However, all the stuff about her scheduling her C-section with Jayden to avoid him being born on SP’s birthday was indeed just rumors.

That said, I do agree with you about being tired of Britney being the “scapegoat for bad decisions”.

I hate that Christina, as well as others, are being critisized for POSSIBLY having an elective C-section. I had all four of mine vaginally, one without an epidural. And guess what? When I had the one without the epidural, I didn’t get any awards on the way out…

Star is reporting that Christina’s water broke on Friday 11th and she started having contractions but than they stopped so they gave her a dose of Pitocin to increase the strength of the contractions. Christina never dilated beyond four centimeters. Christina was intially against having a C-section but she wasn’t left with any other option.

How do YOU know that? A person not in their sane mind could do just about anything. That doesn’t mean they want to do it though. It doesn’t even mean that they will. Mental instability can mean that people might harm their kids though.

How on earth do you know anything about Britney’s c-section anyways? As far as i know, any and all news about it is PURE speculation, nothing more. There are no facts, only rumors and malicious gossip. You dont know the circumstances of her pregnancy and you certainly dont know anything about her own “selfish needs.” She plainly loves her children, and while she may be misguided at the moment she would never do anything to harm them.

I am really tired of people using Britney as the all-time scapegoat for bad decisions. Leave the girl alone.

I’m sure Christina knew it was going to be extremely painful. You can prepare yourself for something like this and still have it be worse than you imagined.

It makes me sad to see such criticism over something as wonderful as a child’s birth.

Considering she gave birth so late at night, more then likely they tried a natural delivery, and complications happened.
Most “scheduled” c-sections are in the morning.
