Halle Berry on the realization that pregnancy ends in childbirth

Actress Halle Berry, 41, is preparing for her delivery surprise, due to arrive in March. However, there’s one aspect of the process she hadn’t really considered in-depth until now:

I’m worried about giving birth. I’ve been pretty cool about my pregnancy up until lately, but suddenly I’m realizing that there’s a baby that’s got to come out and someone is going to have to be there to push it out!

Emotionally, I’m a bit of a mess. Besides all the hormones bubbling and boiling inside me, the anticipation is starting to get to me. I’m more nervous now than I was during the Oscars.

I freaked out a little a few weeks before my first son was born. But those last weeks of pregnancy can be torture, and I think that’s just preparation for childbirth! Seriously, by the end, you just want that baby OUT and you don’t care how it happens!
I wish her the best of luck, and I’m sure her baby is going to be gorgeous!

aw I can totally relate to that. I don’t have any kids yet because I’m just a little too young but the thought of childbirth puts me off of having kids altogether! :(

I was the opposite – I was totally excited and looked forward to labour! I ended up labouring for 5 days in total (with 5 weeks of prelabour) – and still had a smile on my face all the way through, can’t wait to do it again :) Halle looks GORGEOUS in that picture!

I realised I was ready to have a baby when I was more concerned with raising the child than the childbirth itself. When I was younger, it was the childbirth that scared the hell out of me. Witnessing several births was a fantastic contraception for a while there. The last time, however, I was having my arm squeezed and being yelled at, exhausted after being awake for 36 hours and I was still thinking “I wish it was me”. Sad, really.

If she didn’t feel this way I’d think she wasn’t “normal”. lol.

Can totally relate to that. I was so wrapped up in the pregnancy that when it came time to have the baby, I was clueless. I thought I’d breastfeed…so didn’t buy bottles. HA! Of course, that didn’t go ass planned.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! That’s great! Halle, every one of us that have had a baby and even the ones that haven’t or maybe never will feel exactly the same. You’ll be fine. I always feared the pushing part, but both of my pregnancies ended up being c-sections. The first because he was breech and the second because he was so close to the first one that they were afraid for my uterus. So, I never got to push but I’m in awe of every woman who gets to have that experience. Good luck Halle. Can’t wait to see that beautiful little baby.

“I’m realizing that there’s a baby that’s got to come out and someone is going to have to be there to push it out!”-I take that comment to mean that Halle is planning on having a vaginal birth. Way to go, Halle!

Give her a month and she’ll be begging for the baby to come out! Hated being so breathless at the end and having to lasso my knickers on everyday got v irritating!
Seriously though, it’s true, you get so wrapped up with the pregnancy stuff that you kinda forget about the baby part! It’s all about you – the appointments, the scans, blood tests etc, so there comes a point where all that settles down late pregnancy and you finally realise it’ll be over soon, the next chapter will start and you will meet your baby! And pushing is nothing to be afraid of-thats the fun bit! That’s the time when the pain alters and you can channel that energy into doing something positive!Good luck Halle, think good thoughts! xx

The last couple of weeks are pure torture. I was almost grateful for the labour to finally start!
