Update: Sam Hornish Jr. speaks about wife's pregnancy, Addison due February 10th

Update: Baby is a girl, to be named Addison, and is due February 10th.

We had to get everything done, the nursery put together, before the season starts and hopefully we’ll get the baby before the season starts. We are eagerly awaiting her arrival.

 Originally posted September 7th: Indy Racing League driver Sam Hornish Jr. and his wife, Crystal, are expecting their first child in February and the couple couldn’t be more excited. The 28-year-old father-to-be said,

Personally it’s something that both Crystal and I are very excitedabout and of course we both hope that her pregnancy and the birth govery well. Professionally, Crystal and I lookforward to taking our baby with us to races and to being the bestparents we can be. It’s good to know though that if for any reason wewould need to have the baby stay home, we have two sets of grandparentsclose by who would be more than happy to help.

Well, Feb. 10th is a GREAT day for any baby to be born, if I must say so I don’t understand naming the baby girl Addison though, since it means “Son of Adam” and is obviously a boy’s name. Oh well, to each their own I guess. Best wishes to them and I hope the rest of the pregnancy & delivery goes well.

Actually, for Sam, February 10th is not a good day. It is Pole Day for the Daytona 500. Hopefully he’ll be able to see his daughter’s birth (he is locked into the race).

I think Addison is a pretty name. A family friend and a teacher recently named their babies daughters Addison.

I had a daughter 11/07 and named her Addison. I have always liked the name, before Grey’s Anatomy and before I knew the meaning. I think just because it’s typically a “boy’s name” doesn’t mean it can’t be used for a girl or visa versa. But again, I’m biased!

Taylo- Actually, I’ve always thought of Addison as more of a girl’s name! I only know one Addison….and she is a girl!
