Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman welcome Max Liron

Caguilera101007_09_cbb_2 Despite earlier reports that she had her baby on Friday, songstress Christina Aguilera, 27, and her husband Jordan Bratman welcomed a son on Saturday, January 12th at 10:05 p.m. Max Liron Bratman weighed in at 6 lbs, 2 oz and was 20 ½ inches long when he was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. While Max was their rumored name of choice per a source at Page Six, Liron is Hebrew for "my song" or "my joy" and honors Jordan’s background.

A rep for the couple confirmed the news to People,

Christina and Jordan are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman. He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy! Mom is resting and doing well!

On her website — which is adorned with blue balloons featuring the birth information — Christina has put together a special video for fans, including some personal wedding footage. She writes,

Dear fans,

Today is a very joyful and special day for Jordan and I as we welcome our first son into this world.

In honor of our love for each other and our growing family, I have put together a special video for the song "Save Me From Myself" off my Back to Basics album. This video is very dear to me as it includes actual footage from our personal wedding video!

Just a little something to say "thank you" for your undying love and support. It is in no small part because of you that I live such a blessed and wonderful life!

Please download and enjoy…

With all my love,

Christina

In June, pregnancy rumors began, which CBB confirmed as legit through our sources. Still Christina chose to stay mum, even when Paris Hilton announced the pregnancy for her! Finally in November, Christina spoke publicly about her pregnancy, following that up with an interview and photoshoot with Marie Claire magazine, in which she confirmed that she was expecting a little boy.

Thanks to CBB readers Mari, Katrina, Stephanie, Katherine, Phil and Chelsie.

Yay! Congrats to mom and dad on their healthy baby boy.

- Cyn on

Finally!

I don’t mind the name Max, but I think combined with Bratman as a surname, it suggests that he’s a super brat!

I’m not a fan of Christina, but glad to hear that her baby’s here, and everyone’s doing well.

- ZaraB on

Congratulations to Christina and Jordan!! I like the name, it’s cute. Wonder where they got the name Liron from

- Aleah on

Welcome baby Max! These two will be wonderful parents…they are so much in love! Congratulations!

- Mari on

How exciting! Can’t wait to see pics!

- bobbi on

i saw this in people magazine a few hours ago. i’m so happy for them and i can’t wait to see pictures of max and harlow madden. the only celebrity baby i’m waiting to be born now is halle barry’s baby, i’m thinking girl on that one. congrats christina and jordan.

- bella on

i love the name congrats to them

- kay on

A normal first name and an unusual (yet delightfully appropriate, it’s Hebrew for “my song”) middle name. Maxwell or Maximilian might have been nice for formal occasions though.

- Lara on

What a lovely name. Hope she enjoys motherhood

- Pixie on

Congratulations to Christina and Jordan! I have been on CBB every hour since Friday – and now Max is finally here.
Cannot wait to see him!

- ASH on

Congrats to Christina & Jordan :)

How do you pronounce Liron?

Sarah’s note: Lee-ron.

- Sam on

Fantastic – I LOVE the name Max!!

- Livy on

Awww Max. I love that name. Congratulations to Christina and Jordan. I am sure he’s a beautiful little baby. Glad everything went ok and everyone is well.

- Denise on

Congratulations to them!
I like the name, never heard Liron before though. Did they make that up themselves or is it a known name in the US?

Sarah’s note: It’s a Hebrew name.

- Sarita on

Congrats! I’m shocked at that name for some reason? Never would have guessed …

- brannon on

im so pleased for them! i think she is going to be such a good mother, cant wait to see some pics of him soon! i wonder who he takes after

- leah on

Aww I am so happy for them and their beatiful new son! His name is so cute as well as I love the name Max! I cant wait to see the pictures of this little one!

- Sophie on

So the rep wasn’t lying or anything. Huge congrats to Christina and Jordan, and welcome, little Max!

- Alice on

Cute name! Nice and normal (at least for a celebrity). Is Liron a Hebrew name? After a familymember of Jordan perhaps?

Sarah’s note: Yes.

- Laura on

Edit: Liron means “my song” of “my joy” in Hebrew. Put together, the boys name means “my greatest joy”! Supercute!!! What a great choice!

- Laura on

How exciting! It’s been an interesting adventure watching Christina from her Genie In A Bottle days up until now.. it seems like she’s finally found the happiness that she’d been looking for. Jordan brings out a true glow in her and I know that lil Max will just bring more love into her life. He’s going to be a great addition to the family and can’t wait to see him! Best wishes to the new family!

- Amanda on

Congrats! So I guess those rumors of a scheduled c-section weren’t true?

Sarah’s note: My guess is she did have a scheduled c-section, because that’s what the Page Six source said and they were right on the name. BUT they have not announced how she gave birth so it really could have been either way. Maybe they’ll do an interview and photoshoot with one of the mags and will discuss it.

- Heather on

Congratulations!

Anyone got any idea’s where Liron came from??

Sarah’s note: It’s Hebrew, to honor Jordan’s family and faith.

- Annie-Kate on

Congratulations to the new parents! I *LOVE* the name Max, beautiful and very strong!

PS: I wonder if she had the scheduled c-section as was “reported” on Page Six a while ago…

- Lucy on

Congratulations! To both of them and to nicole and joel. I couldn’t be happier for them both. I actually squealed when i read about it!

- nika on

Congrats.
Looks like your source was right for the name being Max not JordanJr.
But many were incorrect ( nypost, page6, perezhilton) about Max being born on Friday along with Harlow Madden.

Now on to Max’ bris milah & seudat mitzvah.

Was he pushed or cut out?

- abc123 on

glad to hear the baby’s finally here.

just had to chuckle though, because between Nicole and Christina’s babies, they share the same names as my two dogs: Max and Harlow. :-/

- janine on

after rumours of a c-section being scheduled, does anyone know if she went naturally or actually had a c-section??

Sarah’s note: We don’t know at this point.

- meg on

Wow – what are now – like three for three with fairly “normal” names for celebs babies? Love the name and glad they didn’t go out on a limb with somthing crazy! Best of luck!!

- tracy on

great name!!! Congrats to Christina and Jordan!!!

- tink1217 on

I love Christina since Gennie… She’s my favorite singer!
I’m really glad to know that she gave birth to a baby boy. And the name is great! Max Liron.. the meaning is very beautiful.

Congrats to Christina and Jordan.

- Luciana (Brazil) on

Aww… My greatest joy, or my greatest song – since she is a top notch voice – is so appropriate and beautiful. I have been secretly routing for her to give her baby a nice normal name, and I think this is perfect. (I thought she’d totally go off the beaten path to name her son!)

- Shanna on

Congratulations to Christina and Jordan!

Annie-Kate: Behindthename.com says that Liron means “my song” or “my joy” in Hebrew. Maybe the meaning “my song” was the reason to choose the name? Anyway, I love his name!

- Marie on

Congrats to Christina & Jordan. They’ll make wonderful parents. I know Jordy must be over the moon.

- Roxy on

I can’t help but to wonder if Jordan is Jewish or has a Jewish background?

What an adorable name!

Sarah’s note: Yes, he’s Jewish. Their wedding also had a strong Jewish influence.

- Mira on

Well finally! LOL Congrats!

I bet the rumored scheduled c-section was actually a scheduled induction!

- estelle on

Liron is pronounced (lee RON), it is Hebrew and means “song is mine; joy is mine”

- Mechele on

Congratulations Christina and Jordan on your new little addition! Max is such a cute name; I can’t wait to see pictures.

- Kimora and Kariah's Mommy on

hi. :) love your site :X:X

- celebrity on

Mira, yes Jordan is Jewish.

- tink1217 on

Just a quick note on scheduled inductions and c-sections at cedars… They are both often pushed back due to l&d being so busy – and we all know how busy friday was! She could very well have had that happen to her. I know my “emergency” induction was pushed back three times.

- meghan on

it´s so cool that Christina and jordan finally had their baby…. i wish them all the best. and Max liron is a really cool name :)

To CBB thank you so much for all the photos of christina….. and of course for all the quick news……..

Lot of love , lena (germany)

- Lena on

Congrats to Jordan and Christina. I am sure little Max is super cute!!

- J.M. on

I’m so happy for them. Jordan looks great for Christina because he seems to shun the spotlight. I bet the baby will be tall because his birth length was long. I am very surprised that she put the blue balloons at her website for the birth because she too is a rather private person.

- Kelly on

What great news.I’m so happy mother and baby are doing great. It seems like the next day is the most great because its the day after you gave birth and your like man what happened yesterday and then you look at your bundle of joy and your like wow!So i’m sure she is ecstatic.

- Tan on

Congratulations to them! I love the name and especially the meaning behind Liron. How sweet for Christina to post a message for fans. I admit, I too want to know all the dirty details, so I hope they do an interview/photoshoot with a magazine. They did for their wedding, so I hope they will for Max too.

- Pam on

I almost wonder if she purposely pushed back the c-section after hearing about Nicole Richie’s birth?

Anyway, congrats to them!

- Vanessa on

Congrats to the new parents! I love the name & I’m sure he’s just adorable.

- Amanda on

Max is a normal nice first name, so that’s not bad. I wonder if she really was gonna give birth on friday like reports were saying but since she was having a c-section and heard nicole gave birth, maybe she decided to just wait one more day. He weighed around the same thing nicole’s baby weighed give and take a few ounces. Congrats to them, can’t wait to see the baby.

- adriana on

It doesn’t sound like she had scheduled c-section. 10:05 p.m on a Saturday night is an odd time for something scheduled even if it was pushed back due to other deliveries and her celebrity status. Sounds more and more like she went into labor.

- Wacka Wacka on

Max is a nice name!

- Lola-Bella on

I hope the baby looks like Christina and not the husband.

Christina is gorgeous….. kindof funny how she married someone so ulgy.

Guess looks dont be anything I find it so funny

- Kate Jones on

Congrats to Christina and Jordan! Love the name. I think it’s wonderful that she put together a video and is sharing her happiness with her fans! Hope the new family get to bond and share some private time together.

- gargoylegurl on

Congrats to the happy couple! I like the name and wish them all the best!

- Cecilia on

YAY!!! She’s been my favorite singer since she first started out. I love the name Max!! I can’t wait to see the little guy, he’s going to be precious, no doubt. I’m going over to watch her wedding video right now! :)

- Alex on

Wasn’t Christina due last week? I’m guessing maybe she didn’t actually have a scheduled c-section because don’t doctors normally like to do those 1-2 weeks before a woman’s due date?

Sarah’s note: We heard she was either due this week that just passed or next. But yes, usually c-sections are done earlier to try to eliminate the chance of a woman going into labor first.

- AM on

Quite interesting middle name, but cute none the less. Congratulations to them!!

- Meg on

I don’t think the time has much to do with if it was scheduled or not. I had a scheduled inducement with my second, for 7 pm on a Sunday night. My sister’s best friend was induced at 3 am in the morning. My sister was just induced 3 weeks ago at 10 pm. The hospital never closes, so I don’t think times have much to do with anything.

I LOVE the name Max. My sister was supposed to be a Max, but then turned out to be a girl. My husband and I are going to name our son, if we ever have one, Max (Maximillian as a formal name, with Max as a nickname). I hope it doesn’t get too popular now, or we might have to change, though.

- Dana on

It’s nobodies business how Christina had the baby. I give her a lot of credit for not talking about how she gave birth, vaginal or cesarean, or as one gross poster put it “pushed or cut out?”. Why should she discuss it- so everyone here can criticize her? Mom and baby are both healthy and that’s all that really matters.

- Colleen on

Congrats to them! I love the name. I agree Colleen, why should Christina have to tell people how she brought her son into the world. The only thing that should matter is that both of them are healthy.

- Renee on

This is wonderful, I am glad everyone is safe and happy. Thank you CBB for the update.

- Nita on

My neighbor was all set to be induced, but the hospital called her and said they were too busy. They didn’t have enough beds and if more women in actual labor came in they’d be stuck. So, they put her off til later in the day instead of first thing in the am.

Christina very well may’ve been set up for Friday, but as we know, it turned out to be a very busy birthing day…and that’s just the ones we know about. They may’ve just told her to come back later.

The night I had my second son, we walked in past two couples being sent home. I was in full labor, and had my son within about four and a half hours of getting there. The nurse told me that I’d gotten the second to last bed and they were turning moms away that were being induced or just weren’t as far along as some.

This could also be why the celeb moms that delivered vaginally were discharged so quickly after having their children…they can afford to have a nurse/doctor visit. (That and the celeb status meant more photogs/distractions to other patients). However, I know in the case of everyone I’ve known to deliver, myself included, the hospital had a 24 hour policy. We weren’t going home any sooner than 24 hours after delivery…to check the baby and mom. The hospital probably had them sign something saying they weren’t liable and that the parents promised to be seen by a nurse/doctor.

Again, who knows…and it really shouldn’t matter to us. As long as the baby and Christina are healthy that’s all that really matters.

- Hoother on

Congrats to Christina & Jordan! I like that they chose both a Hebrew and Anglo name for their lil boy, honouring the heritage of both of his parents. I’m guessing he’s a looker and I can’t wait to see pics of him!

- Mary-Helen on

Congrats. Not crazy about the name (Max Bratman sounds funny to me). But Max is a cute name anyway.

- Heather on

Oh, how lovely! As someone of Jewish faith, who picked out a name with Hebrew origins for my own son (Nathaniel), I LOVE the fact that he has a Hebrew middle name! I can’t wait to see photos of the little one.

- erica alayne on

Could we leave the arguing on the other threads?

Congrats to Christina and Jordan on baby Max. I agree Maxwell would have been nice, but his name fits what he’ll be nicknamed either way. I love the middle name.

- terri on

that name is so much better than “harlow winter kate”!
i’m glad someone thought ahead to middle school when they picked a name!

- candy on

Well finally Christina and Jordan’s baby arrived! It seemed forever. I’m sure baby Max is a handsome little fellow! Bet he’ll look more like Christina. For some reason I see him on a future play date with baby Harlow Madden. Lol.

- J.J. on

I love the name! Max is an old classic and Liron is such a pretty and unusual name. I’m Jewish and I actually don’t know anybody with that Hebrew name. I’ll have to keep it in mind for baby #2 for us :>

I wonder if Liron was a deceased grandfather or uncle? It’s the Jewish tradition to name after a relative who has passed away. We named our first son after my grandfather, and my mother loves that we honored her father that way.

Congrats to the Bratmans!!

- PSB on

Wacka Wacka- My thoughts exactly. True, some inductions and C-sections get scheduled for the night-time. However, it seems like most of the time, even for celebrities, C-sections and inductions get scheduled for sometime during the day (just look at all the celebs who have had planned C-sections. Most of them had their babies sometime in the morning or afternoon).

Anyway, my guess is that Christina either had a scheduled induction (which technically could have begun sometime on Saturday morning) or went into labor naturally. Either way, I’m thinking that she proved us all wrong and had a vaginal birth!

I also don’t think she would have pushed back a scheduled C-section a day just because Nicole gave birth on the day she was supposedly scheduled to have Max. I mean, considering how little Christina is, I’m sure she was pretty miserable and more than ready to meet her little boy. I’m guessing that the birth of Harlow Madden was probably the last thing on her mind!

- Annoyomus on

The announcement she left on her official website saying thank you to all my fans, I wouldn’t have such a blessed wonderful life if it wasn’t for you, was very sweet. If anybody hasn’t seen it, go to her website she has the baby’s weight and everything posted, with a sweet message to her fans. She also has put together a special video of that song save me from myself from her back to basis album and the video has some images from christina and jordan’s wedding.

- adriana on

Adriana I think everybody probably saw and read it because cbb has had it in the post since this morning, maybe you missed it? i agree that it was very sweet of christina, i am surprised though because I always think of her as sucha private person. it was a nice surprise to see that.

- Debbi on

congratulations christina and jordan! very pleased for you both and happy that max is doing well.. cant wait to see what he looks like.
take care all of you

- carly on

Max Liron? I think that’s a great name. I also think that baby Max heard it through the grapevine about all the babies being born Friday, so he wanted his own day and chilled a bit before he made his debut the next day! ;)

- FC on

Christina has turned into a lovely young lady. I wish them all the best with their growing family. :D

- Jen on

Congratulations. Like the name but does my opinion matter? They had the child and thought about the name and it is between them and him.

Glad that they are doing well and wish them nothing but the best.

Love the video she posted.

- AlwaysHungry on

it’s pronounced Lee-rone liron being my own name, i’ve had to “spell it out” for people my whole life! it’s a very common name in Israel, it’s given to both girls and boys.

- lb1129 on

Congratulations Christina and Jordan! I can’t wait to see Max:-)

I was planing Liron for my son, I hope it doesn’t get popular now.

- candi on

Congrats Christina and Jordan. I am a huge fan and always have been. My daughters birthday is January 12, 2006 so you can imagine i was excited to hear that Max was born on the 12th. Good luck and i cant wait to hear the music that follows this magical moment in your lives.

- Tracy on

That’s one tiny baby. Was he full term or did she pick a date prior to her real due date?

Sarah’s note: She was due the third week of January (this week) I believe, so pretty close.

- Hea on

kate- ITA! Whenever I comment on one of these posts about not understanding why anyone would choose to have a C-section, people always seem to assume that I am “anti-Csection”. However, that is not the case at all.

I myself was born via C-section for medical reasons, and both my mother and I would have very likely died if she had tried to deliver me vaginally. I am in no way against C-sections that are medically neccesary. In fact, I am very grateful that C-sections can be performed. They are literally life savers in some cases.

What I am against is C-sections that are purely elective, and not medically necessary.

All of that said, all of this is making me remember when Trista Sutter was pregnant with Maxwell. She mentioned in an interview that she was afraid she might need a C-section, and people jumped all over her assuming she was planning to schedule one. Then she did end up having a C-section….Because of medical complications that were life-threatening to her and her baby (preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, if I’m remembering correctly).

For all we know, Christina’s C-section could also have been for medical reasons.

- CelebBabyLover on

Congratulations Christina and Jordan, and welcome to the world Max Liron. I’m so happy for you guys and I was so happy to hear the great news. I can’t wait to see pictures of you and your son.
I’m myself a big big fan of you, Chistina. I love your voice and your music. I hope you the best of luck in the future.

Hooray.

HOORAY!

I very much admire Christina and Jordan for having the taste to pick a name that isn’t going to hinder the child’s social development like so many other celebrities do. As a name nerd (and a Modern Orthodox Jew), I am cheering for Liron! That has been a favorite of mine for ages, and I am beyond happy to see it used in the States. Congrats!
