Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman welcomed a baby boy on Saturday at 10:05 p.m.

This is the first child for the 27-year-old singer and her music executive husband.

"Christina and Jordan are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman. He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy!" "Mom is resting and doing well!"

Despite various media reports that Aguilera had her baby on Friday, Max – 6 lbs., 2 oz. and 20.5 inches – arrived late on Saturday night in L.A.

The baby was born late on Saturday night, so when her rep announced that she was still pregnant (friday around 9pm) she wasn't lying.

I think that either: a) she had the baby on the same day as Nicole et al, and didn't like having to share the spotlight, so has held off on announcing the birth; b) heard that Nicole was in labour, and rescheduled her apparently planned C-section to a later date; or c) had the baby, but there is some kind of problem that has prevented them from announcing the birth (I hope, obviously, that this isn't the case).

In any case, I'm not a fan of Christina's, and agree with gargoylegurl that all her apparent claims of being a private person are attempts to garner more publicity. She's looked miserable and annoyed the whole way through her pregnancy, and I'm surprised that she's so popular with CBB readers... Give me Nicole any day!

It would be funny if she did wind up having a
girl. It isn't impossible, ultrasounds do sometimes tell wrongly. When my mom was having me the doctor told her it was a boy and I am most certainly not a guy!

Hmmm...I find all of this very interesting. I think celebs like Nicole and Joel are very smart. Instead of shrouding the birth in secrecy, they recognize that as celebs there is immense interest in what they do. I think releasing the birth/baby details will actually bring them more privacy. Christina claims to be very private, but I think her actions are having the opposite effect. Of course she is under no obligation to tell us squat, but I actually think all the mystery, secrecy & rumors, are just making the media frenzy worse.

Wow, the rumors about her pregnancy and birth. Apparently now msn.com has written that Christina gave birth. I wish htye'd just wait for something official. Good luck Christina!
