Originally posted December 28th: E! and Dancing With the Stars co-host Samantha Harris, 34, says daughter Josselyn Sydney, 3 months, loves to dance already.
She gets really excited when music is playing. She’ll kick her feet, move her hands and wiggle around on the [activity] mat. She loves to be talkative. I think we are in for a little girl like I was: telling stories and that make no sense and have no end in sight. She’s definitely our kid. We’re really looking forward to her giggling.
Samantha says she and husband Michael Hess are ‘really lucky.’
She is really easygoing. It’s a free-for-all. We team up for the night routine, which is a bath and a little baby-lotion massage, and we alternate who feeds her. (Samantha pumps milk for Michael to give.) When I do, I like to sing her a song my [deceased] dad used to sing to me, ‘Sunrise, Sunset.’
One thing Samantha refuses to stress about is the preschool rush common in LA — some parents apply for preschools before their child is even on solid foods, in an attempt to beat the wait lists.
Living in LA, people talk so far ahead about it. I don’t want to be on the list five years in advance. If that’s the kind of school it is, I don’t want to be there.
