Fantasia Barrino shoots down pregnancy rumors

Despite speculation online and in the New York Post, former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino is not expecting a baby.  In a statement to US, the rep for the 23-year-old star of the Broadway version of The Color Purple categorically denied the rumors as "entirely untrue."  Furthermore, a rep for the show offered up an explanation for Fantasia’s sporadic absences from the stage production, absences which seemed to spark the speculation in the first place.

It is true that she has missed some performances because she has gotten sick from time to time over the nine months, but doing eight shows a week is a lot so she missed a few.

Fantasia is already mom to daughter Zion, 6 ½.

Thanking my lucky stars that I am far from being a celebrity. I can’t imagine having someone report to the world that I am pregnant when I am really not without even asking me first. Insane!
