Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon just wants sleep for Christmas

Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, 41, and her husband, talent agent Michael Nilon, welcomed twins — sons Jax Joseph and Jaid Thomas — on October 18th and now all she wants is sleep, she said at the premiere of the play The Color Purple.

Sleep. All I want for Christmas is sleep. It’s going good, [but] we’re [exhausted]. It’s unbelievable how hard it is, really.

Garcelle, who has a son Oliver Saunders, 16, from a previous relationship, tried to be prepared for becoming a mother of multiples, but found out that nothing could ready her for the real thing.

But you can’t be prepared. No book can really tell you how to hold one and burp the other, which I was doing at 4 o’clock in the morning.

At first I wanted them on the same schedule but then I realized that you can’t really do it at the same time. You can’t feed them and change diapers at the same time. Now I kind of want them to piggyback the time.

The former NYPD Blue actress is already back on her way to her pre-pregnancy weight, but admits that she has yet to start working out.

I just got the okay on Friday to work out. I had a C-section so we had to wait six weeks.

Garcelle plans to go back to her favorite routines, but only if she gets some rest.

I’m going to go back to Pilates. That is what I like to do, but right now I’m too tired to do anything.

She credits the exercise she did at the beginning of the pregnancy before posing in Playboy for helping her body to bounce back so quickly.

I think that really helped me lose my weight, because I was in great shape before that.

Garcelle and her nanny were photographed out with the boys last week — take a peek at Concrete Loop.

HOLD your baby Garcelle! The way she holds him is freaking me out. Put your phone or whatever you’re holding in a pocket and HOLD your baby.

It’s hard to tell movement in photos, she may not have really been holding him like that.

I’m so glad she was honest. Having twins really is hard at the beginning, but it gets easier. Mine are 3 now, and it’s hard in different ways but still easier.

Looks like she could use the onesie my niece has – http://bp0.blogger.com/_A7mbZznJsVc/R1qqlLQUU7I/AAAAAAAAAK4/IIDIFKN3ZWE/s1600-h/cookies011.jpg – it is too cute and so right!

LMAO, that is a cute onesie, Carly. :)

And even from side angles, those babies are cute little bundles. :) And, maybe I’m in the minority, but she seems to have a good grip on her baby just fine. Even the nanny is one-arming it. I do it myself for a minute or two then switch to both, then switch back. I see nothing wrong. I just think the photogs caught the photo when she held him in that instance like that. She could always drop the bag and readjust, or simply put her baby in the carrier.

Anyway, I love that I’ve finally seen some photos of her new boys. :)
