I have the Radian 65 for both my boys (ages 2 1/2 and 5) and love both seats. My 5 year old could probably use it for 2 years (at 7 he should be save enough in a booster). I also heard this company is coming out with a booster that has LATCH so it doesn’t slide around the car! Great.

Hey Y’all. This is great. My twin girls use this and they are 12 and they still love it. I like the fact that it is built so that at their age it is still comfortable for them but i know they are truly safe.

The top tether is part of the installation of the car seat, but is not a substitute for the seatbelt. The seat must always be properly installed with the seatbelt (or LATCH system if you’re using the lower anchors,) and then the top tether tightened. Properly installed = 1″ of movement or less if you try to move the seat side to side or front to back by hanging onto the shell of the car seat where the seatbelt routes through the shell and pushing/pulling gently. So yes, the tether is part of the installation, but it can’t be used by itself. Having the seat checked by a tech is always a good idea too. :-)

Just a couple of things. This carseat is known for being a booger to install, so make sure you have it checked by a tech. Also, the tether is not a method of installation, and neither is SuperLock. SuperLock is a locking clip that is used on the seatbelt when lockoff’s are not included on the seat itself. Definitly do not assume that the the tether is a method of installation. It is absolutly not.

What in the heck do you mean by:
“You can use LATCH, tether or SuperLock to install it.”
The tether isn’t an installation method, it is there to reduce head excursion.
And what is SuperLock?

The Radian can be installed with either LATCH or Seatbelt – those are the ONLY installation methods.

I really love this carseat. Everything about it is great. The only complaint I have is that the fabric is not washable. My husband shot cum on in one time during our Thursday date night, and I’ve get to be able to get the stain out. Other than that this carseat is nice.

I absolutely love this carseat!!! I recently had triplets in november and I am in love with this carseat. It has the great safety ratings that I wanted and the design in fabulous. I drive a regular sized car and I can fit all three of the carseats in the backseat with no problem at all. The carseats have a narrower size which makes it easier to fit them all in my backseat. It is also so easy to get them all into their carseats, and I can feel and see how safe they are. Plus I can tell the babies are so comfortable in them, the fabric is soft and the padding is great and not hard like other carseats. I would highly recommend this carseat to all parents.

I have this car seat for my five year old daughter and we LOVE it! I SO prefer it over my two year old’s Britax!!! It is heavy to carry but being able to fold flat is a major bonus. Plus, I love the low profile, the cute Princess fabric and the buckles are easy enough for my daughter to buckle herself at this age but would be too hard for a younger child. The best part for me though, is the super safety rating. I would put up with some inconvenience for a high safety rating but I get the best of both worlds with this seat! It fits older children so they can stay in a five point harness and I really love that, too. The only drawback is the fabric is not washable. Not a big deal…
