Update: Boston Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and wife welcome son

Update:  The Boston Herald confirms with spokesman John Blake that baby Jack was born at 10:35 a.m., weighed in at 7 lbs 14 oz. and measured 20.5 inches.  Both baby and mom are doing well.

Originally posted 5:21 p.m.: Theo Epstein, the 33-year-old General Manager for the Boston Red Sox, welcomed his first child — a healthy baby boy — earlier today, the Boston Globe reports.  Theo’s wife Marie Whitney delivered their son, Jack, at a Boston-area hospital before noon; Marie’s due date was last Saturday.  Neither Theo nor a rep for the team would confirm the birth or the name.

I found this additional information, not sure if you’ve already read this…

It’s better late than never for Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and wife Marie Whitney, who gave birth today to the couple’s first child, a healthy baby boy named Jack.

Originally due Saturday, the baby, weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches, was delivered at 10:35 a.m. at a Boston hospital. Neither Epstein, who is fiercely private about his personal life, nor the Sox had an immediate comment.

Later, team spokesman John Blake called to say “everybody’s doing fine…The family would appreciate some privacy.” It is the fifth grandchild for Epstein’s parents Ilene and Leslie.

I saw this picture and thought it was UK singer Robbie Williams! Too funny that they look alike!

Anyway congrats to Theo Epstein and his wife on their new son.

Robbie Williams? I don’t see it lol. I think it may just be the face Theo is making, they don’t normally look alike
