The Cruise and Beckham families cheer on the Spice Girls

Wednesday night at the Los Angeles Staples Center, the Spice Girls took center stage. Victoria Beckham’s (Posh Spice), 33, husband, David Beckham, 32, and sons Brooklyn, 8 ½, Romeo, 5, and Cruz, 2 ½, were there in attendance cheering them on. Friends Tom Cruise, 45, Katie Holmes, 28, and Suri Cruise, 19 months, joined them for the 90 minute show in a private box.

Complete with two nannies and a security team, the group danced along with the Spice Girls’ hits. A concert goer told People magazine:

They looked really happy, like they were having a great time together.

I love the Spice Girls. I have loved them since I was 6.I am 18 now and I still love them. I am trying to get tickets to their Toronto concert(s). They are comming 3 times. But of course Tom Criuse and Katie Holmes get tickets and they take Suri. And David and the kids. I am sooo envious.

Sarah’s note: I’ll tell you a concert trick. Go to the box office an hour or two before the show — they almost always have tickets to ‘sold out’ shows at the last minute. I’ve sat anywhere from front row center to up on the side 10 or so rows from the stage getting tickets this way. ;) I do it for every concert I go to. You just have to be okay with waiting until just before the show.

Thanks. But the thing is I live to far away from where the concert is and I also have no one to go with. Thank you though.

Sarah’s note: Oh, that’s too bad.

- Olivia on

I might try it though. It is a good idea that you mentioned.

Friends of mine went to the concert in Vancouver B.C. last Sunday and sat right in front of the box with David and the Beckham babies! Sooooo handsome, and such cute boys! Gah! I’m still jealous!

- Shannon on

So cute that suri and the beckham boys were there. I love the spice girls too.

- gianna on

love these people i’m so jealous.

- JANET on

Awwh how cute and sweet, I wonder has Isabella ever met them or is a fan.

After all the complaining everyone does about celebrity moms, I can’t believe no one thinks it’s a bad idea bringing a 2 year old to a concert. I personally think it is absolutely ridiculous. Get a sitter and keep her at home.

- amy on

ya I agree. Why bring Suri? way to young

- Olivia on

I dont think its a bad idea to bring a 2 year old to a concert.. its the same thing as if you were taking her to see Disney on Ice… I have been to a concert and had box office tickets… the noise in ther is nothing like hwo loud it is when you sit on the floor!

I adore Suri… she is soo darn cute…

- Jennifer on

Why do these ppl. need NANNIES with them at every turn?? Can they NOT handle the responsibility of looking after their OWN CHILDREN EVER??? I also agree with above commenter- I can’t stand going to a concert and seeing young babies/children as a mom I always worry about their ears… just me, tho.
As for the SG’s- I have no comment worth mentioning :)

Do you really think a 2 year old understands or remembers a concert, or Disney on Ice? I think bringing a child to an event that is above and beyond their comprehension is a waste of money (and you run the risk of a complete meltdown of a 2 year old who gets bored/tired/overstimulated).

- amy on

Do you really think they paid for the tickets? They probably had them comped. Furthermore, talking about wasting money to the Cruise family is just silly seeing as how they’re buying Suri a pair of custom designer shoes that might cost up to $5000.

- Rebecca on

The seats that katie and tom had with suri, are totally different than the noise you hear in regular seats at concerts. I think it’s sweet they took her, and are always out with their daughter and seem very hands on.

- gianna on

I saw more pictures before they were pulled off the net and Suri seemed like she was having so much fun. Kids never remmember anything that age, it doesn’t mean we never do anything for them. I would have a problem if she was going to be pushed in a crowd but with VIP sitting, it is OK and nothing you ever do for your child is a waste of money.

- Janey on

I FIND THIS FUNNY SURI ISN’T THE ONLY BABY THATS BEEN TO A CONCERT.

GWEN STEFANI AND GWENITH PALTROW HAVE TAKEN THEIR CHILDREN TO COUNTLESS NUMBERS OF ROCK SHOWS.

- JANET on

I think it is sweet that they wanted to include Suri. So what if she won’t remember it? All that mattered is that at that moment she was having a good time spent with friends and family. Maybe there were photos taken so later in life she can look back and say ‘I was at one of the Spice girls reunion tour concerts.’ :)

- E on

I don’t think they would have taken her if it had been say a U2 concert. This was a concert put on by their friends in a box seat with other kids near her age. Cruz is only a year older!

- finnaryn on

I see nothing wrong with Tom and Katie taking Suri to a concert. I was not that much older or I might have been a little bit younger when my mom took me to a concert. I don’t remember this concert at all but they had my picture made with the singer and I still have that picture today. It is a picture that I will always have of my very first concert.

Disney events and concerts are made for kids, I do not care what the age. One of my sons is 3 and had the TIME OF HIS LIFE at a Wiggles show when he was 18 months old. He also saw the Doodlebops when he was 2 1/2 and Disney on Ice, etc. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed going to shows and concerts and even if they do not remember it years down the line, they enjoyed it at the time and that is good enough for me!!! As for bringing Suri, its not like they brought her to some random concert. They are friends with one of the singers for crying out loud! That’s cool, whether you are a celebrity or not. I would jump at the chance to go to a free occnert and sit in the VIP section and watch a friend of mine sing. Why get a baby-sitter? It was a family affair for the evening and it looks like they had a great time. I feel bad for some kids out there who must get left out of a lot of stuff!

I still can’t help wondering where Connor and Bella are all the time?

- brannon on

Amy- Suri is NOT two years old. She is 19 months old, which is UNDER two years old. Techincally, if you are counting her age by years, she is 1 year old.

brannon- A commentor on another recent Tom, Katie, and Suri post mentioned that she read somewhere that Bella and Conner stay with Tom’s sister at the Cruise’s home in LA or wherever it is. Tom’s sister homeschools them. Given their ages, they can’t just hop from plane to plane the way Suri can. They have school and social lives, after all. Anyway, I’m guessing that, at their ages, they are actually very grateful that they aren’t often in places where the paps can snap pics of them.

All of that said, I agree with all the commentors who stated that they don’t see anything wrong with Tom and Katie bringing Suri to the concert. I mean, as one commentor pointed out, Cruz was there, and he’s only a little over a year older than Suri….and yet no one’s saying that David Beckham should have left him at home!

If Tom and Katie had left Suri home, then people would probably be complaining about her not being with them! Honestly, some celebs just can’t win no matter what they do!

i totally agree!love this family!!!

- ps on

I’m sorry to bug CBB about this again, but I really don’t think it’s the Cruise “family” without Bella & Conner there. Its just Tom, Katie & their daughter.

- Natasha on

It says that the concert is in LA…and if they live in the LA home and get homeschooled, I am sure they have lots of time to goto a concert…especially Isabella who might remember the spice girls from the first time around and would have thought that was pretty cool…I know we don’t know the whole story, but it does seem wierd…I can’t imagine giving up VIP seats to a spice girls concert just because I’d have some pictures taken of me!

- Kate on

Natasha- ITA! I have kept quiet about this for quite some time, for the same reason that you have (that I didn’t want to bug CBB). I am very glad you finally said something again!

In fact, lately I have felt that the media in general has been unfair to Conner and Bella (BTW, this does NOT include CBB.). For example, recently I saw on the cover of either US Weekly or OK (I can’t remember which one at the moment): “Christmas with the Cruises”. This was accompanied by a picture of only three of the Cruises, Tom, Katie, and Suri.

I feel that the media segrates the Cruises into two groups: Tom, Katie, and Suri, and Tom’s “other kids” Connor and Bella. They do the exact same thing to the Jolie-Pitt family (in their case, of course, the two groups are Angie, Brad, and Shiloh, and the “adopted kids” Mad, Pax, and Z).

Anyway, it makes me feel bad for Connor and Bella. They are just as much a part of the Cruise family as Suri! In any case, it does irk me when CBB posts pics of Tom, Katie, and Suri, and then calls them “the Cruise family”.

Okay, I’m done with my rant now! :)

I was there! My seats were on the floor and the Beckhams and Cruises were directly behind and above us, sitting in the club seats. Before the show began, David got cotton candy for all the kids. Then Tom repeatedly stood on his chair and waved and the crowd went nuts. It was pretty cool to see how supportive David is of his wife, and how they wanted to make it a family experience.

- shalay on

Anonymous (lol your name isn’t posted), its nice to hear I’m not the only one! I don’t see it as much with the JP family personally. A lot of people put Shiloh on a pedastol (sp?) but in general I don’t see it half as much as with the Cruises.

It’s like people just cut Bella & Conner out of his life, and Suri is his golden child…weiiiird. Plus it’s not like he just adopted them (with the JP’s all the adoptions were quite sudden and some people might not be able to keep up lol), they’ve been in Tom’s life since they were just babies.
