i agree with you guys…the show is for entertainment and that’s why i love it! i luv snoop and i think he’s a great dad. he makes it a part to be in his kids life and i respect him for that.

J-Lin I’m glad you said something regarding Sarah’s comment. I’m African-American and we all do not cuss out our children. And using comedy does little to back up your statement. There are parents of all races that “cuss” out their children. Please don’t make it seem like its just the norm and the expected thing to do in the African American community because it is not.

Sarrah, I know you are trying to help, but your comment is stereotypical. Don’t think all African Americans raise their kids based on a comedy schtick by Bernie Mac or Chris Rock. I’ve seen parents of all raises get frustrated and say “sh*t,” “@ss,” or “d@mn”. Just because you know two or three black families, please don’t offer authoratative advice on the whole race!

My mom certianly did her share of cussing. I guess that’s my fault, but me and my sisters turned out fine. We turned out better than fine actually.

I’m related to a bunch of african-american families and yes, they do cuss at their kids (watch a few comedy acts) but its not a big deal, and ‘cussing them out’ probably means ass,damn, and hell. The kids know they better do what they’re told and to me its way better then someone screaming at their kids for 20 minutes without moving or following up on their threats, or someone who actually calls their kids names. And talk down to them? Please, they’re kids, you have to talk down to them in a way. And like someone else said cussing them out might mean he yells at them. I think Snoop Dogg is probably a much better parent then most people out there today.

I’m pretty sure by “cussing them out” he meant chastising them when they make a mistake. I seriously doubt he swears at his children. I don’t get how a few sentences out of a longer interview can give anyone enough information to condemn someone’s parenting style. He actually sounds remarkably like my dad, and I turned out just fine. Only with my dad the minimum age requirement for dating was 40, not 77. That part was cute I thought.

I think some of the people on here need to come down off there high horses. One excerpt from an interview does not tell you what goes on within there household.

I agree with your comment, Poppy. I was going to give Snoop Dog the benefit of the doubt, until I read that comment. His children are 13, 10, and 8. Why does he think it’s necessary to talk down to them like that??? Strange…..
