Update: Christina Aguilera poses for Marie Claire, talks pregnancy

Update: Additional photos and quotations added.

Originally posted November 28th: Mom-to-be Christina Aguilera, 26, shows off her burgeoning belly in the latest issue of Marie Claire. Inside, the songstress, due with a son in early January, discusses becoming pregnant, touring in her first trimester, keeping quiet with her good news, and her public persona.

On getting pregnant during a tour stop in Washington, DC in early April:

We were planning on starting to try after the tour [ended in August]. And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn’t know how much time it would take. You’ve heard it takes some time –- except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here. That’s what my makeup artist on tour calls it. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, can you believe it just happened?’

On finding out she was expecting:

By the time I was supposed to get my period, I was like, ‘It’s not coming’ — and it’s never late. And there were emotions coming up that I’ve never felt before — I was already starting to get emotional. So I did a test.

When the double lines came, my jaw dropped; I started shaking. I couldn’t help but smile, and I started to tear up.

After peeing on a few more sticks, and visiting a doctor to confirm, she called Jordan in New York — he was elated.

On finishing the last months of her tour while in her first trimester:

I was paranoid. There are so many things that could go wrong –- somebody could slip, somebody could fall, I could fall. There was no way in hell I was going to jeopardize my baby for my show.

[I wore a heart monitor.] I didn’t want to make the audience uncomfortable, like, ‘Pregnant lady onstage! Is she going to be okay?’ But I had to announce it to my band and my dancers, because I wanted to make sure they had my back. When we got to Asia, at one point no one could find a few of the dancers — they were off the premises — and I got really emotional about it. That was the last time that happened, let me tell you.

Luckily I was one of those women — don’t hate me — that had no morning sickness whatsoever.

One thing that did change were the costumes. Of a tight-fighting pair of pants she wears in an opening number, Christina remembers, ‘I was like, ‘Just do it in sweatpants material.”

Some days when you’re pregnant, you just don’t feel like doing a show, but I’d be like, ‘Come on, little one.’ (strokes belly) I really did feel like I had a teammate. It felt like my little roommate in there.

Like, little one was egging me on and encouraging me to do it. I’m putting together a scrapbook for him so he can see how he was in the spotlight before he was even born.

On hormones:

I remember one night [on tour] I came out and sang ‘Beautiful’. And I was really crying while singing the song — I couldn’t help myself. And the audience just went crazy. They thought I was really getting into it. My band was like, ‘Oh man, this poor girl!’ That was the first time I’d ever bawled on-stage. But it came at the right song, at least I wasn’t crying during ‘Dirrty.’

On staying mum about the pregnancy while everyone else discussed it and Paris Hilton announced it:

Japanese newspapers took this photo of her in the country and drew a large white circle around her belly. Says Christina, ‘I was like, ‘Oh my God. They’re on to me!”

Because I hadn’t said anything, people thought I was trying to keep it this big, bad secret, and that’s not the case at all. I just wasn’t commenting. I’m not being like, ‘Hey, everybody, I’m pregnant!’ I’m not that girl.

If it’s about my album, I’m like, ‘Hey go out and grab it, release date is November blah blah.’ That’s what I’m going to announce, I’m not going to announce my child. Why do I have to announce something that’s so personal? Why is that anybody’s business? In this day and age, everyone’s so quick to announce everything in their lives. A lot of women out there who are used to being in the limelight look at that as another source of attention.

Anyway, Paris. Yeah, at first I was a little surprised, but you know what? At the end of the day, I thought the gesture was sweet. She did say it in a very complimentary way.

Lord know, when your body’s going through all those changes, any bit of compliment thrown your way is a good thing. Some days I ask Jordan, ‘Babe, what happened to my thighs?’

On her vivid dreams:

I read in one of my little pregnancy magazines that there are three stages of dreams you have. First one is memories from childhood. During the second stage, you have lots of dreams about animals, and nurturing animals — connecting with something you can relate to on a motherly level. Third stage — I forget what the third stage is.

But I’m in the second stage right now, dreaming about my dogs. And I’m always saving them from danger, from coyotes — or saving the big one from drowning.

On Jordan:

My best friend in the whole world. He’s not a limelight guy. He knows when to tell me the truth, and when I need to eat because I’m grumpy. He made me Oreo ice-cream sandwiches when I was craving them.

Jordan adds in how excited he is about the baby, and chats about them starting to feel him kick.

09

On finding out the sex:

I’ve had the serious urge to nest. That’s why I had to find out the sex. I want to get it right. I don’t want a bunch of yellow and beige gifts.

On number of children she wants:

We’ll start with this one.

On the empty locket she wears:

I guess it’s waiting for a picture, right? Come January, it could have one.

On making adjustments:

Christina does plan to hire help, but also will be handling night time duties herself — a tough call for someone who usually gets up after 2 pm.

I guess that’s going to change. That’s where the selfless acts come in. I do have maternal instincts — even with my little brother [Mikey, 10]. When he’s in town, I get up because I have to cater to him.

Another thing that’ll be changing — naked Sundays.

Yeah, we’re going to tone that down a little. That’ll be babysitter day. We’re going to live our lives; it’s important to have Mommy and Daddy time.

On her public persona and different looks throughout
her career, and how she will explain that to her son
:

We’re so labeled. If you’re too sexual, you’re slutty. If you’re not sexual enough, you’re a prude. I like to put it out there as a topic of conversation. Why does it bother you? What’s your problem with it? Am I really hurting you? Let’s get to the root of it.

I have more than one side of me that likes to get out on a stage and sing. Sometimes I want to be aggressive, sometimes I want to feel empowered in my sexuality and my vulnerability. I want to put all that out there.

There will be definite explanations for everything. I’m going to make sure there are no judgments in this house and there are reasons for things. I’m going to raise him not to judge other people for expressing themselves.

I want him to be well-rounded. I want him to travel with Mama so he’s cultured and gets to see how other people live. I can’t wait to open up his mind to the amazing world out there — and also, for me to see things for the first time, through his eyes.

I love Christina! LOL! I am just sitting here cracking up about her “Power Egg and Super Sperm” that is just too funny…I also love her take on things…she had no obligation to tell anyone…she doesn’t need to announce it to the world and make some huge deal out of it–because really–it’s none of our business…I mean yes we love to know and to see all the pictures, but in the end, this is HER baby, not ours so who she chooses to tell or confirm it too is completely up to her.

I am so excited for this baby to be born…it feels like so long in the making and no doubt Christina and Jordan are gonna be completely in love with their son…kudos to Christina for having avoided all those major pitfalls of CELEBRITY and in the end finding her soulmate and now adding to their family…CONGRATS–oh and she looks STUNNING in that picture!

- Megan on

She looks stunning! (she always does though!) I am glad she answered some questions about her pregnancy, she isn’t all out there like Britney was with her pregnancies, but it is nice to hear some details. She is so classy and tactful!

- sara on

Really? I think she’s kinda gross with all that makeup always caked on and the bleached hair (that can’t be good for the baby, can it?). I also heard that they’d been trying for quite awhile so I think that Power Egg comment is just a cover.

- lmj on

Beautiful! I wish I could have had some professional (air-brushed) photos of me taken when I was pregnant. Wonderful keepsakes. I avoided cameras at all costs and wish that I hadn’t :(

- brannon on

She looks amazing!

- Lorus on

Sorry, I find it disgusting… even photoshopped…
Perhaps it would have been more “artful” in black & white?

- Sonja on

the pic on the cover of the magazine is beautiful, the second one I don’t like…
Anyway, she is great and I’m happy for her and her husband, can’t wait to see the baby.

- sil on

She looks so amazing in those photos. I’m so happy for her!! She’s absolutely glowing!!

- Stacey on

She looks good for 8 months pregnant, but in general poses like that I feel always look a bit tasteless and not classy especially when your married. I knew after not confirming her pregnancy, we would see her on a magazine like this I said it all along lol. Anyway can’t wait to see what she names it, and who baby looks like

- gianna on

I love photos like this. I had some black and white photos with a sheet draped around my breasts and bottom taken when I was 34 weeks and they are my most treasured mementos of my pregnancy. We actually have one up in my son’s nursery as part of a timeline — the photo, one of him as a newborn, 8 weeks, 4 months, 6 months, 8 months, 10 months and a year. I’m usually reserved regarding my body but I never felt more beautiful than when I was expecting, and I think it shows in the photos I had taken. I love it and encourage all women to do it if they’re comfortable.

I had the same thing as Christina happen to me regarding going off the Pill. I got pregnant WAY before I thought I would and it was such a shock!

- Pam on

I just don’t think these are that great. Airbrushed or not, this girl wears A LOT of makeup all the time. She never looks natural to me. Her style (clothing/shoes) is usually cute, just too much makeup for everyday. I know the cameras are always on her, but they are always on Jennifer Garner and Halle, Nicole and so many others and they look more like natural beauties to me.

- Tara on

I personally love the pregnancy photos of her; I should have taken more when I was that far along. I’ll certainly take some the next time around though. And airbrushed or not, she looks fantastic!

- Morgan on

I just found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant! And let me tell you I am only 24 n married, n I will would love to take glorious pictures during my pregnancy, my husband included.
I don’t see what’s wrong with her pictures, again people are criticizing things that are not the norm. You only live once and further more, being pregnant is a true blessing. So, why not make the most of it?
People, please just live free and enjoy life, you don’t always have to be so critical.

- dee on

Love the pics but I wish they wouldn’t photoshop as well

- Sarah F on

Ow. Christina is a beaut.

- Nikki on

I think there is nothing wrong with the poses, actually it looks like fun! BUT the photoshop is overpowering. All magazines do it, but Christina is already so unnatural looking to begin with. She seems to be quite pretty, but I wonder if she masks insecurity with all the make-up. I have no clue what she looks like with natural hair, or eye color! Perhaps baby will hold the answers…

Sarah’s note: Her eyes are a really pretty blue naturally (although I don’t know if maybe they enhanced them with photoshop, and I have heard that she wears contacts when she wants them to be really bright).

- crimpe on

i love her comment about the power egg and super sperm! the same thing happened to me at the same time- i am expecting our first right after the new year as well. it’s been interesting to see how i grow compared to her- she looks fantastic- i would love to have photos like that – but definitely airbrushed!! all the best to them for a happy family and healthy delivery

- Brianne on

She looks amazing!! What a beautiful keepsake.

- Jessica on

Let me start by saying that I think the female body is truly beautiful when pregnant. I am 29 weeks along with my second baby and fully intend to have some professional photos taken. BUT, I must say that something about the cover shot makes me uncomfortable. Maybe it looks overly sexual? And really, I must stress, I don’t think there is anything wrong with looking sexy during pregnancy. But I think the emphasis of pregnant photos should be on the beauty and dignity of the pregnant body and the life inside it, and not on the mother having a “come hither” face on and a jacket showing off the side of her breast. As for the second photo, I think it more the type of thing for the couple to have for themselves…it is way too intimate for a magazine like Marie Claire. Honestly, it looks a bit to me like something you’d see in Playboy. Just my opinion.

- BostonMom on

Regarding her eyes, they are naturally blue, but she started wearing contacts at a very young age and the doctor advised her mother to buy the colored contacts so that they would be easier to find if they fell out. Her natural blonde hair color is seen in photos of her when she was younger.

Her makeup and hair color are too much for me, but that’s the point, it’s not me – it’s her.

I love her pictures and find nothing disgusting about them. I really have to wonder why there will always be a few that have such strong, negative reactions to rather tame photos.

- terri on

I don’t see how these photos are tacky or tasteless. I do think some people around here just want to criticize anything celebs do. If you don’t like the photos just say you don’t like them, you don’t have to judge the poor woman. I like them and I do love the fact that a pregnant woman is on the cover of Marie Claire.

- Rene on

I think pregnancy pictures like that are nice to have, for your own memories. But would I wanna pose like that, and have the whole world see my privates, my butt, etc. Um no, some things are better private, and these pictures remind me of playboy pictures. To pose like that, and know your dad, husband, brother, cousins, etc could see it, is just a bit creepy IMO.

- gianna on

Maybe it’s just me because I am as young as Christina Aguilera, but I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with these pics! I think she is beautiful and love her makeup!

I believe that there are several people on here that are pretty “old fashioned” and are stuck in the mindset that pregnant women are something to be hidden.

But c’mon people. It’s almost 2008. Pregnancy is something to be celebrated and treasured.

- Mary Beth on

I am younger than her and I think those photos are completely tacky and tasteless.

Yes, it is almost 2008 and pregnancy should be celebrated and treasured (just like it should have been – and was – 1998, and 1988, etc, etc, etc….). I just don’t need to see a naked Christina Aguilera to know she’s treasuring her pregnancy.

Everyone is entitled to celebrate their pregnancy how they like. Personally I don’t like the photos, not my cup of tea, but they will be an adorable family. :)

- L on

Gianna and L, don’t you think you’re being a little bit mean. Just say you don’t like the photos..but don’t blame her for them. Blame the magazine or photographer. I’m starting to feel bad for some famous women. No wonder so many of them have issues when people are judging them so harshly.

- Renee on

I love this girl and see nothing wrong with the pictures either, and in response to Tara… No need to be so much against her wearing a lot of makeup, some woman are just divas (lol) and always wear lots of makeup. That is how my mom is, around the house in the mornings she will not be done up but if she is going Anywhere in public she HAS to have her makeup and hair done up completely or else she just feels unpresentable, its just her routine. My sisters and I tease her, calling her a diva but there is no problem that my mother loves her makeup! :) Her, nor Christina, look unnatural and like you can’t tell what they really look like. Thats my peace. Bottom line, its not you so its not a big deal.

- Ashley on

Renee – L and Gianna weren’t attacking Christina! They gave their opinion, and it was no more harsh than other opinions posted. Everyone here has been very careful to state their opinion, and add that it is Christina’s choice in the end.
That said…
She has a great baby belly! But I do indeed find that her pictures are slightly more provocative than the other pregnancy posed pictures. But it’s great that she is extremely happy and excited about the arrival of her son!
And I agree – the make up on the cover shot is just too much. You see photoshopped celebrities without all the make-up, but their skin is just very clear.
Can’t wait to see their little boy!

- Ans on

I think she looks great. She is happy and beautiful and it is tasteful. Hey, if Demi Moore could do it 10 years ago, hell so can she! You go Christina!

- Ashley on

Renee I didn’t attack christina nor did L, if you go reread my post you will see that. I said that I personally think pregnancy pictures are beautiful, to have for your own private memories but I think it’s a little tacky to do when you have a father, husband, brother, relatives, etc who can see those pics, that look almost like playboy pics. Why would anyone blame the magazine or the photographer, it was christina’s choice to get pictures like this done. So your private not to confirm a pregnancy, but not private when it comes to posing nude, I get it lol. And I am a christina fan, I have all her cds and seen her in concert just a few months ago, and can’t wait to see her baby. I’m also 2 yrs younger than christina, and don’t consider myself totally old fashion, but I will say I’m a little private when it comes to posing nude whether I’m pregnant or not,and don’t find it classy at all. But to each is own, but in my personal opinion, I don’t even like how the pictures look. And thanks Ans for responding to my post and L, I agree with you too.

- gianna on

I’ve always thought she was beautiful and love her empowering message to women. She plays with her image – that’s something every girl has done. She looks beautiful here and seems to be really happy and stable. Probably going to make a great mom.

- Erin M on

gianna- To be fair, Christina’s privates actually aren’t visible in these pics. In the first picture, her legs are pressed together and the picture was taken from the side, so her crotch is not visible. In addition to that, she is covering her breasts with her hand.

On the cover picture, one of her breasts IS slightly visible, but even so, she is showing a lot less than a lot of celebrities do on a regular basis (e.g. Britney flashing her pantyless crotch to the paparazzi).

That said, I also want to say that I am surprised that these photos have received so much critcism. I mean, it’s not like Christina is the first celeb who has ever posed nude for a magazine while pregnant! As another poster mentioned, Demi Moore posed nude when she was pregnant with Scout.

If I am remembering correctly, Jenna Elfman also posed nude before she had Story. Britney Spears is another example, she posed nude while pregnant with Jayden. One more example: Katie “Jordan” Price, who posed nude while pregnant with Princess Tiaami.

Other than Katie Price, I cannot recall any of those women receiving any criticism for their nude photos.

As far as Christina’s make-up….Personally, I dislike it when women pile on tons of make-up. However, the bottom line is that it is THEIR body and THEIR choice, not mine. I may not like it, but I’m not going to criticize them for it. Also, I’m pretty sure I remember Christina mentioning once in an interview that she “hides” behind her make-up. If she feels the need to do so, then I say we should let her, and not criticize her for it!

- Annoyomus on

Wow, those photo’s are beautiful.
Christina looks more beautiful while pregnant.
I love her.

- Sylvana on

the cover picture is really nice, but the totally-naked-pic is way too much flesh to show for a pregnant lady… that’s not stylish, sorry – I think it just looks cheap.

but I have to agree… she looks fabulous!

- ingrid on

How ironic; some of you are saying “oh you dont like the pictures, youre so old fashion, dont criticize everything, dont be so negative…” well, just by saying that YOU are criticizing others too…..so dont be so negative!
I am the least “old fashion” type of person you will meet and i am not crazy about the pictures. I do remember when Britney posed for pictures like those and there was a lot of trashing going on. So many people are so double standards when it comes to celebs and their kids. You will let those you adore get away with anything and you will not let anyone say anything negative about them. But those you hate you make sure that they are dragged through the mud.
this is a messageboard and people are allowed to post both positive and NEGATIVE comments, and it is not up to you to tell others that they are “wrong” or “bitter” for not liking the pictures…..
I enjoy the diversity of opinions on these boards…imagine how boring it would be if 50 messages siply said “ahhhh how cute……” “or OMG I JUST LOVE ….” saying “i dont like this” does not make one a mean person

CBB note: Just clarifying that you can talk all you want about the photos, the poses, the makeup, the photoshopping, but negative comments about Christina personally will not be published per the rules you all see before posting.

- Julu on

FOR ALL OF YOU WHO THINK THESE PICTURES ARE BAD, YOU SHOULD SEE THE ONES SHE DID FOR MAXIM MAGAZINE IN 2002. SHE WAS ALSO TOPLESS AND WEARING A THONG. BUT THEY WERE REALLY IN BAD TASTE. SHE EVEN HAS HER MIDDLE FINGER UP IN ONE OF THE PICTURES. SO I DON’T THINK SHE IS WORRIED ABOUT MALE FAMILY MEMBERS SEEING HER NAKED LIKE SOMEONE SAID BEFORE. THESE ARE REALLY TASTEFUL COMPARED TO THOSE.

- BELA on

I think being pregnant is a wonderful thing, but what does nudity have to do with being pregnant? Just because the woman was like that when she conceived, doesn’t mean she should flaunt around nude all the time. A pregnancy is something to be celebrated, but complete nudity like the 2nd pic looks like porn to me, not art. I think that kind of picture should be for her and Jordan, not everyone, to cherish.

I’m sure she’s quite happy with her airbrusher…cause everyone woman on here know that is she is 8 months pregnant, those legs portrayed in that pic are not as perfect as the pic shows. :)

That being said, Christina is beautiful. She has always been beautiful, even during her “dirty” phase. :) I’m very happy she is embracing this pregnancy and I’m sure she will make a good mommy. :)

- Nicole on

Annoymus yea I’ve seen the pics of britney, jordan, demi, posed for pictures like this too, and I found them just as unattractive as I find the christina pictures. The people that pose for these pictures I’m not surprised though, britney, christina, jordan, demi, etc, like to show their bodies without clothes when not pregnant, so with pregnant it’s just anther excuse. So pictures like this IMO are not so much to show pregnancy, because all those women at one point or anther have shown their bodies for non related pregnancy reasons. You never saw salma hayek, jennifer garner, reese, keri russell, mariska, katie holmes, etc posing like this, because that just doesn’t fir their personality in general and none of them seem the type to need attention on a regular basis IMO.

- gianna on

Do Celebs get stretch marks? Christina looks amazing . . . but sometimes I wish some famous pregnant woman would let us see the flab and stretch marks :) Might help us (unfamous pregnant women) feel a little better about what pregnancy does to our bodies?

- Jen on

I think she looks absolutely gorgeous!

- Sabrina on

Yeah although poses I’d never do personally, Christina’s pics aren’t that bad. They definitely are better than the stuff she posed for back 5 yrs or so ago when she had that “Dirrty”-girl persona going on. Plus she obviously has fewer piercings now, which is a good thing imho.

As far as pregnant celebs pics, although a shock at the time, I think Demi’s pics were probably the classiest mainly because of the lighting & so forth.

And I agree with Jen about the stretchmarks comment. Yeah too right! lol!

- Autumn on

wow…one thing that always blows my mind about christina is that she claims to be a catholic. as a catholic myself who has just finnished reading theology of the body i would love to know what part of the church’s teachings support more then half of her actions. i just think its a bad example for a catholic to be setting.

- lyse on

When I first saw the cover at People.com the other week, I thought she looked great. Still do. I think that and the one b&w shot of her lying on the floor is nice. :) Love how bright and blue her eyes are, too!

LMAO at Power Egg and Super Sperm. I’ve heard of super sperm but never power egg. That’s funny. And, overall, she sounds like she can’t wait to be a mom and have that baby in her arms. :)

- FC on

‘Some days I ask Jordan, ‘Babe, what happened to my thighs?”

True that! I wonder what happened to mine (and my butt) as well!

- Pam on

Although I think she looks amazing, and I agree she should announce her pregnancy only when she is ready, I feel she is a walking contradiction. And I must profess that I am a huge Christina fan – always have been through all the incarnations. However, for her to say: “…I’m not going to announce my child. Why do I have to announce something that’s so personal? Why is that anybody’s business?” and then pose in such a provocative manner is contradictory, in my opinion. It would seem that her beautiful pregnant body is also personal and nobody’s business. Would be nice to see her save something, such as this, for the exclusive enjoyment of her husband, herself, family, and friends.

- ifpu375 on

I agree with the above, but I also get the feeling that Christina is a ‘do-it-on-my-own-terms’ kind of person and she’s not going to do things, like announce her pregnancy, just because it’s expected. But when she wants to announce it and if she wants to pose, she will. That’s how I took it anyway.

But I do get and agree with your point, especially as this is an interview strictly in promotion of Christina — she doesn’t have any new projects that I’m aware of. Usually Marie Claire, Glamour et al have cover models that have a new movie, CD, TV show, etc coming out.

- Pam on

I personally don’t like the pictures as I feel like I am intruding on something private to Christina and her husband. I would feel the same even if she were not pregnant, as I also don’t like Playboy type photos. No disrespect to Christina, as she is obviously confident and happy in the shots, just they are not for me.

- Elaine on

i think the pictures are fantastic and that pregnancy is a beautiful thing. I dont see anything wrong with the poses everyone praised demi when she did it. so why is this tasteless because its in color?? for nuditey to be art it has to be black and white?

in the interview she sure said he and him a LOT reffering to the baby

- tatum on

Tatum, she’s already admitted that she’s having a boy. There’s a link in the main part of the post to it, and then if you click the Xtina Web link, the interviewer says Christina told her she’s having a son.

- Pam on

I am a huge CA fan and she is beautiful and has one of the most amazing voices out there. I literally get chills when I see and hear her and Tony Bennett perform “Stepping Out With My Baby”. While I loved the Demi Moore photo, I just don’t like these particular photos. It’s not CA I’m talking about. I’m talking about the technical aspects. Positioning(posing), lighting, etc. Congratulations that she is having a little boy Bratman.

- Campbell on

Thats a little more Christina than I needed to see…

- Amanda on

In the picture that shows her tummy of the folded pages it looks as if she has a scar where her bikini line would kinda be…

Is that just the picture or did something happen?

- Tracy on

Heck ya! YOU GO CHRISTINA YOU ARE AMAZING TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL, WITH OR W/O MAKE UP HAIR DYE, HIGH HEELS, AIR BRUSHED,PHOTOSHOPPED,WHO CARES! CHRISTINA KEEP DOIN WHAT YOUR DOIN CAUSE YOU HAVE PEOPLE TALKIN! DESPITE THE NEGATIVITY AND JUDGEMENTAL JEALOUS PEOPLE. I MYSELF AM ALL ABOUT HAIR COLOR, NAIL POLISH, LIP GLOSS, HIGH HEELS, FASHION GLAM, AND SHOWIN SOME TONGUE N CHEEK! MEN LOVE IT AND WOMAN HATE IT. CHRISTINA YOU @#$%ING ROCK! KEEP SINGIN YOUR SONG.

- NATALIE on

Thanks for posting the article. I don’t find it contradictory that she didn’t announce her pregnancy, but choose to talk about it now that it’s fact. I think she’ll be such a wonderful mother. Her son is going to grow up to be such a great man considering the parental influences he has.

I still love the pictures as well! These additional ones are just gorgeous.

- terri on

As much as I love her, no one looks that perfect during pregnancy!!! I’m so sick of these air brushed women in magazines!!!

- Michelle on

I get it Christina you like being naked alot but I am so sick of seeing her this way. Keep that between you and your husband.

- Lola on

Lola- If it bothers you that much, then just don’t look at the photos! I also must ask if it bothered you this much when Demi Moore posed nude during one of her pregnancies, or when Britney, Katie “Jordan” Price, Jenna Elfman (okay, so Jenna wasn’t TOTALLY naked, but she was still showing quite a bit, and her belly was completely bare), etc. posed nude during their pregnancies?

I don’t understand why Christina is getting so much critcism for posing nude during her pregnancy when none of the other celebs I mentioned above (with the exception of Katie Price) got criticized for doing so. Do people have something against Christina?

- Annoyomus on

I dont understand why whenever a celebrity finds out they are pregnant they have to go nude, Whats the point? Halle Berry will probably be the next to nude or partially nude….

- lisha on

lisha- It’s not true that “whenever a celebrity finds out their pregnant, they go nude”. Plenty of celebrities choose not to do so. Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie (who apparently DID pose nude for a painter while pregnant, but chose not to share the paintings with the media and the public), Melissa Joan Hart (at least during her current pregnancy. I am not sure whether or not she posed nude while pregnant with Mason), Julia Roberts (at least during her pregnancy with Henry), and Nicole Richie are just a few examples of celebs who have chosen not to pose nude while pregnant (or at least have chosen not to share any nude pregnancy photos with the media and the public).

I also can’t quite picture Halle posing nude while pregnant. In any case, I think that most of these celebs who pose nude while pregnant just want to show that the pregnant body is a beautiful thing….with or without clothes! I will admit that I would not like the shots if Christina’s privates were showing or if they were done in a more “dirty” manor.

However, in my opinion, these photos were done very tastefully, and it seems like Christina and the photographer were very careful to make sure that her private areas were covered. I noticed that, in all of the photos except the cover one, she has her breasts covered with her hands and arms. In the cover photo, they are mostly covered with her jacket. Please, give the girl a little credit!

Could she wear any more make-up? She is a pretty girl in her early twenties, what up with the cake? She will be crazey looking by the time she is 40! Air brush, make up, air brush…Ahh what a natural beauty? Yea right.

I think christina looks beautiful. I think its awesome that she doesn’t care what people say, and will do what she feels despit all the negativity that she knows will come her way. I think a women who embraces her body is amazing. Also, so what if shes married and she posed nude, obviously her husband must have been o.k with it because if he wasn’t, I’m pretty certain out of love and respect for him she wouldn’t have done it! You rock Christina! Keep doing what your doing, its inspiring.

Hi all. I’m from Australia and the January 2008 issue was out but it had Keira Knightley on the cover and Christina wasn’t in it anywhere. Is it possible that anyone out there could send me the entire article at christinajocouzens@hotmail.com?

Sarah’s note: You can just click the source link in the article, scans to all the pages are there.
