11/26/2007 at 08:41 PM ET

Japanese singer Tsuji Nozomi, 20, and her husband, Japanese actor Sugiura Taiyou, 26, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Sugiura Noa today. Noa was born at 12:45 a.m. and weighed just over 6 pounds. Noa’s name means ‘sky of hope.’ Proud father Taiyou reported that Tsuji is doing well and is ‘deeply moved.’

Nozomi was formerly a member of musical groups Morning Musume, W, and Mini Moni.

Shouldn’t it read “proud father Taiyou” and “Nozomi is doing well”? Since the Japanese do the last name before the first name? Or do you always refer to the parents by their last names in birth announcements? I can’t remember…

Sarah’s note: I didn’t write the post, but if it’s incorrect I’d be happy to correct it.

I was a fan of Tsuji Nozomi’s back when she was in Morning Musume, and her first name is indeed Nozomi (if whoever wrote the post meant to use her first name, they made a mistake… if not, then nevermind :p). I can’t believe she’s a mother! She always seemed so innocent and childlike that it’s hard to imagine.

WOW, they look so young, like a couple of teenagers!! Is this a recent pic of them? Congrats on the baby girl!!

The magazine did not commit any errors. My husband’s family is Japanese. In many East Asian countries, the family name is written first, and the personal name second. However, it is an individual decision how one chooses to present one’s name in a Western context.

To the person above me, I know that, I was just wondering if CBB made an error when typing it up. If they meant to refer to the parents by first names, then it’s incorrect, but if they meant to refer to them by surnames, then it’s right

Actually I have nothing to say about this, I just wanted to let CBB know that Brazillian soccer player Ricardo “Kaká” Leite, 25, and his wife, Caroline Celico, 20, are expecting their first child, due in May.
(They got married in 12/23/05, and their love story is soooo beautiful!)
Kaká plays for Milan and Brazil’s Soccer Team.
