Shar Jackson says that the Federline children need each other

Despite their own nasty split, Shar Jackson says that she and ex-boyfriend Kevin Federline — with whom she has two children, 5-year-old Kori and 3-year-old Kaleb — are "definitely still a family unit."  For Shar, that unit also includes Kevin’s two children with Britney Spears, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 14-month-old Jayden James. According to the 31-year-old actress, keeping the four kids in close proximity to one another is a priority.

We definitely make sure the kids all bond together.  I mean, they’re siblings, they need each other.

Another goal for the ex-couple is maintaining a friendship for the sake of their children.

Obviously, the relationship didn’t work out for a reason, and we’re cool with that. But we’re still a part of each other’s lives. And our children get to see two people who aren’t together but still have a great relationship, and I think that’s really important.

Shar adds that she has no concerns with Kevin’s parenting skills, saying that she knows "he’s in a good place" and that — as a result — "the kids are in a good place."

I think is good that Shar and Kevin have managed to maintain a good friendship for the sake of their children. I mean if there was ever a woman had a right to be bitter or vindictive it would be her but she has obviously forgiven him and moved on.
When her kids get older they really appreciate the maturity their mother displayed during a really difficult.
I’m glad Shar and Kevin are making sure that all four kids know each other and get along after all, Kaleb is only one year older than Sean Preston.
Hopefully Kevin and Britney will reach a point where they can be friends but I don’t see that happening until after the custody battle.

I think that it is wonderful that they can be friends for the sake of their children and all get along. I know a lot of people can’t be civil to each other. My SIL got a divorce a couple of years ago and it is terrible to be around her she is constantly bad mouthing her ex and in front of her children it is not a good time when she is around.

I’m also really impressed by how mature and responsible Shar has been through the entire ordeal with Kevin. She never once badmouthed him, she has always maintained that he was a good parent. Very classy. The fact that Shar and Kevin have maintained such a nice relationship makes me question whether the problem in Britney and Kevin’s inability to co-parent is Britney, and not Kevin. He clearly is able to be mature and put personal issues aside with Shar.

I really like the fact that she is a great mother, friend and never had a problem with her children being around Britney when Kevin had left her. Shar indeed is a very mature lady and people can learn a lot from behind her situation, her children will thank her if not now but when they get older too.

I believe that Shar has said before that she and Kevin were having problems long before he left her, that their relationship was never meant to be and that the split has always been amicable… so perhaps the picture the media painted of the Kevin Federline that just up and left his pregnant wife is not quite how it went. It seems that he’s always been there for his children and I think that is what matters. I think there are so many circumstances where staying in a relationship just for the kids leads to major problems.

That said I think what they are doing is wonderful. I love that they want to keep their children together and that they do have that amicable relationship. Those 2 little guys definitely need something stable in their lives. I would love to see photos of all of them, but Kevin respectfully does not drag them out in public very often.

Good on Shar. I also have been impressed with her handling of this situation. I only hope that Britney can pull it together and all the kids will be alright with their parents.

she has 4 kids by 2 different guys and never married, i don’t think britney needs her advice. and though she never bad mouths kevin, she isn’t very nice when talking about britney.

I think they have acknowledged that they were having problems before Britney was in the picture, but he was still not honest with Shar. It is big of her to forgive but it never helps to stay angry and she seems to understand that. It’s just the right thing for her to do, to put the kids first.
