Reese Witherspoon reveals children's career choices

Actress Reese Witherspoon, 31, doesn’t have to worry about her children — Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 –following her and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe into the entertainment business as "neither has said they want to be actors".  They both have different career aspirations than their parents.

Deacon has revealed to his mom that his dream is to be a pizza delivery boy.

There’s nothing wrong with that. But it’s hard to see how it could be a career as such.

Daughter Ava has a different career in mind.

She wants to be a scientist. But they are both at the stage where it changes from one week to the next.

No lie and this still makes me laugh! My daughter was about 3 at the time, and she said “Mom, I want to drive the Not In Service bus.” I asked her why and she said, “So I can drive the bus but not have to deal with the people.” That was her dream for almost a year!

I asked my daughter awhile back what she wanted to be and she said she wanted to be and elephant. I asked her why and she said so she could be in the circus. lol My kid’s a riot!

That is so cute!

Currently, this is what my kids want to be:

6-year old a vet, an actress, and a supermodel.
Almost-4-year old wants to be Sleeping Beauty. I asked if she wanted to work at Disney World, and she said, “No, I want to be Briar Rose when I grow up.”

My sister always said she wanted to be the “paying lady” (cashier) at Wal-Mart.

My son wants to be a plumber, I think. He constantly tells me the toilet doesn’t work and says he can fix it. He usually has flushed something down it. My daughter wants to be the princess of America.

Since he was about 4 years old, my son only ever wanted to be a policeman (ideally a Chief Inspector or a Superintendent). Now, at 16 he still wants to join the police!

My three year old wants to be “a doctor, a teacher, and a mama” … three great careers in my opinion!

My nephew wanted to be a trashman when he was four. Why? Beats the heck out of me, but he was obsessed with them. Whenever he’d hear them coming, he’d run to the nearest window! LOL!

My nephew, Tyler, (who’s 7) wants to be an “ark-ti-tech” (architect)!! It’s really very cute :)

My other nephew, Caleb (who’s 5 – Tyler’s brother) has made a lot of choices, but last time I asked he wanted to be an architect like Tyler… and Tyler said “you always copy off me”.

These two are the cutest!

Tarsha, my brother wanted to be a trashman too when he was little. My mom said that was his dream for a long time :)

I don’t have kids, but when I was little, I always said I wanted to be a teacher, and now I’m in college studying to be exactly that. So, despite often changing aspirations, some in fact, do come true :-)

I had never ask my daughter what she wants to be because i think she is too young to have an idea (she will turn 3 on february…) but today after reading these comments, i asked her…”what do you want to be when you’ll be big like mom” and she told me “I want to make a cake!” :)

My 6 year old wants to be a teacher/rockstar because if Hannah Montana can have a double life, why not her?

My daughter is only 3 months old but when i was little i wanted to be an artist and paint. I dont paint but i am a professional cake decorator. Close enough for me

I asked my daughters today and heres what they came up with:
Imogen wants to be a face painter!
Lola wants to be a cake maker ?!
They are 6 and 4 respectively.

A few weeks ago my 6 year old niece told me that she was going to be a “charmed witch” when she was older because she has the same name as one of the characters Phoebe, and because shes “not scared of monsters or the dark”.
:)
