Suri Cruise enjoys a pre-race party

As her mom prepared — mentally at least — to run the New York City Marathon the next day, 18-month-old Suri Cruise had partying (toddler-style) on her mind last weekend. 

At a ‘Madeline’-themed tea party held at the Carlyle Hotel’s Bemelsman Bar on Saturday, Suri and ten of her closest friends munched on mini-burgers, chicken fingers, cookies, french fries and strawberries as proud parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise looked on. 

According to an unnamed source, the party was a hit.  Suri was seen "running around and dancing and playing with friends" as a pianist played children’s songs nearby.  OK! magazine portrays a similar scene, and provided additional details, including that Suri wore an "adorable" white dress, with a black turtleneck, black tights and silver shoes. 

Katie held Suri and fed her chocolate cake and ice cream…She danced a little, and Katie let her roam around the room. 

Although Tom spent much of the event in conversation with the other dads in attendance, he did let loose for a few sing-a-longs with the kids by the end of the party.  Added the source,

They were doing an ‘ABCs 123s’ song — it was really cute.

Is it just me or does it seem like the doctors to the celebrity babies don’t seem to tell their parents important information….like brush your kids teeth (take a look at Sean Preston’s teeth in the latest picture of him while he is with his mother), or that 18 month old children (Suri) should not drink from bottles!!!!

Oh, how precious! Yes, it may seem a little extravagant, but they aren’t the normal family next door. They are uber-celebrities. They live in a different universe than us most of the time. I would have loved to have indulged my daughters like that from time to time.

I will be the first to admit that I have said some bad things about Tom Cruise in the past couple years. However, his “religious” ideas aside, he and Katie are truly wonderful parents … they spend so much time and energy on Suri. They seem to be a really wonderful family!!!

Seems like she always has a bottle in her hands! This is not an age-related slam – I don’t care if she still uses a bottle, I’m just surprised she’s always walking around holding one, since she’s such an active little tot.

That aside, she looks like a mini Katie to me. They should give her the “Posh bob” too. Bet it would look cute.

I love this little girl. Cute as a teeny button and an actress already. I mean, in that little white coat, she is so diva-esque, I can’t get over it.
