Paula Radcliffe credits daughter for her winning NYC Marathon

British athlete Paula Radcliffe, 33, won her second New York City Marathon today, and what got her to the finish line was her nine-month-old daughter Isla.

It was tough — I didn’t have the breathing problems I usually get towards the end, but my legs felt very tired. I just kept repeating to myself ‘I love you Isla’ to keep my rhythm going.

Dad is Paula’s husband and coach, Gary Lough.

I am amazed that 18 people commented how proud they were of Katie Holmes running a marathon with a mediocre result of 5.5 hours, but nobody commented under the Paula threat. Shame on you CBB readers. So, here I want to express my admiration for Paula. She had a baby less than a year ago and won a marathon. Paula you ROCK!
