Katie Holmes finishes NYC marathon; Suri runs away

Actress Katie Holmes, 28, managed to stay relatively incognito while running the NYC marathon this morning — finishing in 5 hours, 29 minutes, and 58 seconds. Greeted at the finish line by husband Tom Cruise and Suri, 18 months, Katie told her daughter,

Here I am baby, signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours.

The couple was about to head off to a gathering in her honor (Katie’s family is visiting from Ohio) when Tom stopped for a minute to tell reporters about Katie’s three months of training prior to the race. However, things had to be cut short when Suri decided to make a break for it. Laughing, Tom said,

She’s a runner!

Getty Images has numerous photos of the Holmes-Cruise family at the marathon.

Congrats to her. That is a great accomplishment and that she could do it without being bugged is great. Great job Katie. You have inspired me to get moving. :)

Please explain how Katie looks go great after running 26 miles. Where’s the heavy breathing, the red face, the sweaty shirt?? I break a sweat getting off the sofa too fast. Good for her!

I am very impressed with Katie! It is unfortunate to see all the negative comments on other sites. In my opinion, anyone who runs 26.2 is a great role model. I’m glad to see that Katie let go of the designer clothes and shoes, and accomplished this. By completing the NYC marathon, she is setting a great example for her daughter. Mom Power!!!

Katie bravo, That woman has her priorities straight. In my opinion they are the best family in show biz.And Suri is a beauty, would love for them to have a boy, he would be so handsome.

I find something fishy about Katie all of a sudden running a marathon, when all we’ve seen her do lately is stroll Suri around the Berlin zoo! Anyway, IF THIS STORY IS TRUE, she deserves congratulations. And for those of you thinking I’m being cynical, you’re right :)

that is an accomplishment for someone being hounded by the media.Good work Katie! Tom and Suri are the usual picture of good looks and cuteness.

I am so so proud of this girl, running and training and then partying afterwards, she is such a trooper and a role model for young girls and mothers. You go Katie, you just won me over.
