Marion Jones welcomes second child

In better late than never news, sprinter Marion Jones, 32, welcomed her second child — her first with husband Obadele Thompson, 31, also a sprinter and an Olympic bronze medalist, in July. The sex of the baby is unknown. Marion and Obadele married in February.

Marion has son Tim, 4, with ex-boyfriend, athlete Tim Montgomery, 32.

coincidentally, i just read on a different site that marion is to be stripped of all of her medals from the sydney olympics after recently admitting to steroid use….she may serve time for this.

Ok, I have been a true Marion Jones fan for years and her admission of drug use has really disappointed me. I wish her the best, but I’m starting to wonder if pregnancy becoming the new excuse for getting out of prison since she is looking at six months for lying to federal investigators. Nicole Ritchie only stayed in for 45 minutes.

Too bad her infamy given her recent admission as a doper will be her legacy. It’s sad. She denied true, honest competitors their glory at Sydney.

Wonder what she’s going to tell her kids about cheating when they are old enough to understand…

also – apparently she could go to jail for six months. i guess she could deliver in jail. or maybe she’s pulling a foxy brown? i doubt that though.

Like this is news? when your husband, your trainer and the rest of your inner circle are on juice and you happen to win multiple gold medals, hmmmmmm

I read on wiki that she is preg but wiki isnt always true. Is runtex.com reliable?

I thought the baby was born already, in July!!! That’s what the NY Times said this morning in a story about her admitting to doping.

I’ve rooted for Marion for years and I’m so disappointed in her I feel like crying.

I’m confused – in the photos and video of her today, where she admits her lying about the illegal drugs, she does not appear to be pregnant at all, let alone in the late stages of pregnancy.

It makes you wonder if their truly are any honest competitors, all the ‘greats’ are under the gun for doping, maybe it is the majority rather than the minority.

On the baby note, I hope there is not long term effects to steroid use when it comes to having a healthy baby.

yeah I just heard about this on the news today! Nonetheless congrats to her on the baby but I agree with the above posters she doesn’t have my respect when it comes to her lying and cheating ways.

J-Lin- I want to point out that the reason Nicole Richie was only in jail for 45 minutes was because of over-crowding issues. She was treating just like any other, non-violent female offender in California is treated.

That said, it confuses me a little bit that Marion hasn’t even released the sex of her second baby. She not only revealed the sex of her first baby, but his name as well (at least I assume she did, since his name is mentioned in this article. Then again, for all I know it could have been leaked to the press by somebody else). In anycase, I hope her baby is healthy, and I wish her the best of luck with her new little one!

Hmmm…I wonder if she’ll teach her kids the values of honor and truth. I guess she’ll have to learn what those values are first, though.

I’m disgusted by this woman.

I love her, too. And it is heartbreaking to know about her cheating. What are these people thinking when they do stuff against the law???

Congrats to her and her hubby.
