I did notice that she continues to lighten her hair. I’ve heard so many conflicting thoughts on this. Is it safe to color your hair during pregnancy?

Amelia – I read somewhere that Gwen Stefani had her colorist create something special for her to use during pregnancy that was safer than regular dye. Not sure how true that is, but if it is, Christina might have done something along those lines.

My doctor told me to wait until after the first trimester and then coloring was fine. Some say it’s fine throughout.

I was wondering the same thing too. And, not only is she keeping up her bleached blonde do, she’s keeping up with the tanning. Are spray on tans safe during pregnancy? Afterall, all of the hair lightning and skin darkening (“orangening” in her case) entails the use of chemicals.

I’m so happy for her. I remember the sugary pop music days when she was usually looked down on while Britney was praised for her “good girl” ways.

About the hair coloring…. it is safe to use. The only reason women are advised against it is because of hormones. Many times a coloring does not take, and then the woman has wasted the money. Some colorings are better than others, so if you can afford them, there is less chance of it not taking. “Back in the day” it was considered unsafe, but the chemical balance has changed throughout the years to allow a safer process. (I received all of this information when I was pregnant. Since I did not want to “throw” the money away if it didn’t work and had other more important things to spend my money on, I didn’t color my hair.)
The self tanner, I am not sure about. I like my pale skin and have never really supplemented it.
Oh, and she does look stunningly beautiful.

Great to see her doing so great and such a healthy woman. Nice to see someone in hollywood make good choices. She seems like she will be a great mom and such a polar opposite from Britney. Hope she has a happy and healthy 9mos.

Even though it sounds ridiculous at this time of year, Christina might just be tanning unintentionally. Her father is from Argentina, and she has said in the past that she tans really easily, even in winter. I will say that she looks a bit orange, but it might just be how her skin looks naturally when she doesn’t even it out for cameras. Just an idea.
