Jill Hennessy stumped for baby names for second son

Actress Jill Hennessy, 38, is having a hard time coming up with a name for her second son with husband Paolo Mastropietro.

I honestly wish I had a good name picked out right now. His last name is Mastropietro and we’re racking our brains. If you have anything that rhymes with the last name, let me know.

Even though the pair are trying to come up with names, they won’t officially decide on one until they meet their bundle of joy.

What we’re going to do is we have a short list and we are going to wait for the delivery and hold up the list to the kid’s face and try to compare his face to something that works.

The couple’s second child is due to make his arrival in November and will join big brother, Marco, 4.

Maestro Mastropierto would be a great name for them. Marco and Maestro.

- I was once 17, now I'm 15 years older on

I’m not sure how the last name is said exactly, but how about Alberto? Haha!

- Tracy on

I’ll vote for Diego or Mateo…
Marco & Mateo Mastropierto.
Marco & Diego Mastropierto.

- Sadie on

How about Polo? (just kidding…)
I thik Mylo or Romeo would go well with the last name. And Mylo kinda matches with Marco too.

- Julia A on

I had a student named Vinicio (va-nee-c-o)and his brother is Marco. The are sweet kids and the names go together.

Maestro means “teacher” in Itaian… it’s not a name.
Mateo is wrong: Matteo, like my little brother. :)

I’m stumped for girl names… I change idea every day!
If the baby I’m carring is a boy, I’ll name him Samuele, but I like also Francesco.

I think Romeo or Carlo make for a good names: They both sound kind of romantic.

- Shirley on

How about mateo, giovanni, sergio, francesco, something italian to match with the last name.

- gianna on

Im Italian so I think either Matteo, Massimo or Michele(Michael in english).

- Angela on

How about Milo??

- kelly on

Massimo, Matteo, Mario, Angelo, Carlo, Giancarlo, Pedro, Paolo, Giovanni, Mauro, Romeo, Ricardo, Francesco, Federico, Alfredo, Alberto, Alonso…

- vanessa on

Antonio or Luca.

- Anna on

How about mylo?

- brenda on

How about Luciano Mastropietro??
But Luciano in italian, not english.

- Luciana (Brazil) on

It needs to be simple. I like Matteo or Diego as well. Maestro? Um no! That would make for a horrible tounge twister.

- morgan on

I like some of the suggestions already!

Milo, Mason, Mario are good names if you want the double “M” again.

I also like Luciano, Gino, Hugo, Antonio etc.

- J.M. on

I like Matteo or Mossimo, but I think that Pabo would be a good name too. or Vinicio like the one chick said.

- katie on

Enzo, Aldo or Dante might work

- tracy on

Joe!

- Sasha on

I like Dominic with the last name. Or Paul (Paolo)

Girls names I like with Mastopietro are:

Lucia (Lucy), Elizabeth, Josephine (Josie) or Dominique.

LOL Lita…since when does a word that’s not traditionally used as a name stop celebs from using it as one? Apple, Pilot, Coco are examples. Also there are plenty of names that are also derived from an occupation – such as Hunter, Mason, Taylor, etc – that used to be just surnames but now have become more popular as first names too. So I don’t think Maestro is out of the question for that reason…although I do agree with morgan about it being a tongue twister!

Also Mateo vs. Matteo, I don’t think you can say the spelling of Mateo is necessarily “wrong”. Different people spell it different ways, just like Katelyn / Caitlin or Madeline /Madalyn or Braden/Braeden/Brayden, etc. I don’t think there really is a right or a wrong when it comes to baby names, it’s all subjective to whatever the parents want.

Mateo is not Italian, Matteo is the correct Italian form. Marco is a pretty popular Italian name, so I’d say something Italian and as popular would be ok, like Luca, Matteo, Lorenzo, Filippo, Alessandro, Leonardo, Mattia, Fabio, Giovanni, Federico, Lapo, Riccardo…

- Sara on

Enzo, Carlo, or Flavio would be nice..

- Bella Mama on

My 3 Italian boys’ names are Nicholas Anthony, Dominick Vincent, and Carmine Joseph. I’m partial to all of those! Carlo is a wonderful name as well.

Whatever name they choose for him, he will be adorable. Congratulations to them.

I love Matteo! It fits nicely into the family. And it sounds really sweet…

- Em on

How about Giancarlo, Cosmo, Angelo, Antimo, Vito, Antonino?

- Lawgirl on

Luca Mastropietro sounds lovely. I am due tomorrow with my 2nd boy and our last name is also Italian ending in “O”. Our first son is named Rocco & we are now naming our 2nd son Luca when he arrives very soon!

@legemc
I’m sorry if I offended you or I seemed all-knowing.
I just expressed my opinion on italian names.
I’d like to delve on this topic, but my english is too poor and I don’t want to be misunderstood. :)

- Lita from Italy on

Vincenzo, Vincent/Enzo (short form)
Romeo
Allesio (Greek: Alexius, meaning: defender)
Angelo( meaning: angel, messanger)
Toni
Calogero (meaning: beautiful elder)
Gianluca Gianni=God is gracious; Luca=from Luciana)
Giulio (roman form of Julius)
Leone (lion)
Lorenzo
Nico (from Niccolo, meaning: victory of the people)

I just love Italian names

- Tess on

I personally like the name Langston, it is a name that I would love to name my son if I had one one day , but my husband refuses. It is a name that runs in my family and will soon come to end forever. Just a thought.
