Wow, there are two very gorgeous people! I would love to see pics of their little one. I remember Michael Palin once said that even the average Italian man can make every other man look plain. Yup! Same with the women, wow, great genes!

Ok, I’ve been living in Italy for a while and I gotta say that it’s funny how all the italian football (soccer) players are giving their children non-italian names. Francesco Totti named his daughter Chanel (which isn’t even a name) and the poor little girl is made fun of by all Italy, now it’s Tobias Del Piero’s turn. Why couldn’t they name him Tobia (the italian version of the name)? Gianluigi Buffon’s son is going to be named Thomas (again, why not the italian Tommaso?). And it’s not just footballers, normal people also like to give their babies foreign names, Christian/Cristian for example is a very popular name in Italy, while the italian version Cristiano is pretty rare.

Congratulations! I’m a big soccer fan and a fan of Alessandro Del Piero and I wish him and his family the best of luck with their new bundle of love.

I agree with Chanel because that’s a real weird name, or as u say, is not even a name!, but for the other names…I don’t think that if someone is italian you SHOULD name your son/daughter with an italian name….there are lot’s of non-italian names that are pretty too.

Is the same for some names of celebrities in U.S.A, Isabella for example is a beautiful italian name, and Matt Damon is not italian, but Isabella Damon sounds nice to me ๐Ÿ™‚

I think u can give your child the name you like, and it doesn’t matter where the name comes from.

Congratulations to Alex and Sonia!!! can’t wait to see the baby’s picture ๐Ÿ™‚

Gigi Buffon and Alena Seredova, his girlfriend (or fiancรจ, I don’t really know) were looking for a name that could be pronounced the same way in both languages, since he’s Italian and she’s from Czech Republic.

As for Chanel and Tobias, they’re not that bad. I have heard worse. The kids are going to be made fun of no matter what, it’s part of growing up. If it’s not the name, it’ll be something else.

I like the name that Ale and Sonia have given to their son. I think Tobias must be gorgeous as every single thing that Del Piero does! Can’t wait to see the pictures.
