Lourdes Leon, daughter of Madonna, 49, and Carlos Leon, 41, celebrated her 11th birthday with her mom and her best friend. Madonna treated her daughter with a six-hour spa treatment at the Shutters Hotel Spa on Sunday, followed by dinner at Il Ristorante de Georgio Baldi. Madonna also has sons Rocco, 7, and David, 2, with husband Guy Ritchie, 39. More photos at Just Jared.

wow…time changes! at that age I prefered to go to the movies or eat a hamburguer with my parents or/and best friends, and then eat my birthday cake 
definitely not a 6 hours spa treatment!

I agree Sil. The last thing I wanted to do at age 11 is spend hours at Spa. I wanted to go to Disneyland or anything really… but a spa? I guess the times have changed, well at least for those with money.

When i was 11 my mom used to drop me and my friends off to get our nails and toes painted. Girls that age love playing with makeup and hair and fashion (well i did atleast!). That sounds like a really fun day out for Lourdes and her friend. She is going to be a knockout when shes a little older, shes very pretty!

When I first read about her going to a spa treatment for her sixth birthday, I was a little taken aback. Yet the more I thought about it, I know that as a child, anything I got to do that was a “grown-up” thing, was a big deal to me. My mom used to let me go to a high-end salon to get my hair cut when I was in middle school, because it made me feel a little more mature. I’ve taken my daughter to special mother-daughter meals/days on the town to let her feel like a “big kid.”

Her dad has actually been photographed several times taking her and Rocco out when they’re in town. They all seem to be in good terms, I read somewhere that Madonna went to the opening of his play or something like that.

i love how involved madonna is w/ her children. i saw a photo not too long ago of her jogging w/ carlos leon, lourdes’ father. even though they’re not together anymore, it’s so lovely to see them still friends. what a great example for their daughter.

I don’t know. I get the whole ‘being like mum’ thing. But 6 hours at a Spa? I’m 20 and even I haven’t done that!
It just seems to me sometimes that Madonna is teaching her daughter to be concerned about the things that shouldn’t matter to an 11 year old. She’s going to have plenty of time to worry about her appearance when she’s older.
If this is what it’s like now, what’s she going to be like when she’s 18?
A penthouse in New York? A townhouse in London? Heck, maybe Madonna will buy Lourdes her own private island.

A spa treatment doesn’t surprise me. It’s not a bad thing. I think it’s fun for a birthday girl. But it definitely doesn’t surprise me because Lola gets an allowance of $10,000 a month! Amazing.

Before Lourdes was born in a magazine Madonna was quoted as saying she was planning on naming her daughter, Lola. After she was born though Madonna announced that she was Lourdes Maria. However Madonna calls her Lola anyways. I’ve heard her refer to her as Lola several times on t.v. – I still can’t believe she’s 11. I remember when she was born and watching MTV for all the latest info!! Happy Birthday to Madonna’s little beauty!

One of the secretaries here at work just made reservations for her and her daughter to get a 4 hours spa treatment on the girl’s 10th birthday!!! I think it’s wonderful for a mother and daughter to have a day together at a spa. I would do the exact same if I had a daughter.

Sounds like fun! The spa is in a hotel, so maybe the three of them had lunch during those six hours too. Maybe there is a steam room or gym or pool there – many spas have this – they could have been swimming, etc. I don’t think she’s too young to have a fun spa day. It’s a nice bonding thing to do with her mom and I agree that 11 yr olds love getting their nails an hair done. Madonna has been pretty good about keeping those kids grounded and if you have the money, it’s nice to give a treat like this on a birthday. It’s not like they do this every day
