Maclaren announces several new limited edition strollers as part of its 2008 line.
Maclaren has partnered with Lacoste to create "The Lacoste-Maclaren Collection" – which includes a Maclaren stroller (on the Ryder frame – one of my favorites) with a coordinating Lacoste sportswear ensemble for baby. The stroller features Lacoste’s classic green crocodile logo. Suitable from birth up to 55 lbs., the buggy weighs 14.8 lbs., and features Maclaren’s one-handed umbrella fold, 4-position seat recline, tilting hood with a UV protective viewing window, and front/rear wheel suspension. I test drove the Owen stroller in May (which also used the Ryder frame) and loved it, so I am sure I would love this stroller too. It looks super cute and is perfect for a boy or girl.
The accompanying Lacoste sportswear includes a 100% cotton polo shirt and sun hat in classic Lacoste pique knit. The shirt and hat come in the 6 -12 months size. The stroller retails for around $400 and will be available in stores and from online retailers soon.
The Kate Spade Biarritz Edition on the popular Maclaren Quest Stroller is new for 2008. Suitable for babies from 3 months and up, this striking design will turn heads.
According to Maclaren, "Kate Spade extends her acclaimed Biarritz theme, celebrating the renowned French Resort to the Maclaren Stroller, Rocker and Baby Carrier." The Quest weighs in at a light 12.2 lbs and will retail for around $300. Features include an extendable leg rest, classic umbrella fold, and ergonomic handles for parents. This stroller should be available in stores and from online retailers soon.
What really knocked my socks off was the 4 Seasons Stroller. Do you ever get tired of your stroller? I know I do! All you have to do is change the seat fabric and voila’ – a few stroller. The Four Seasons has a tan base and comes with four reversible seat fabric pads (one for each season, with a solid color on the opposite side, get it?) – so there are 8 looks for this 1 stroller. Once again using the popular Ryder frame, this is a tan stroller with a silver frame and gray foam handles. It weighs 14.8 lbs and there is a carry handle also. According to Maclaren, "The 4 Seasons Stroller is a tan buggy with 3 liners include: spring (a butterfly print/ turquoise fabric); summer (navy and white Butcher Stripe/navy with a white quilting detail); autumn (charcoal with a leaf print/ burnt orange with a white and brown quilting detail)." For winter, you can keep the orignal tan interior and add a included footmuff with tan and a chocolate color (and a soft white faux fur lining). Suggested retail price is $500. Lulu Guinness, the famous handbag designer has partnered with Maclaren for the "Life’s a Bed of Roses" Collection. This is her second collaboration with Maclaren, she also created the "I Love You" version of the Quest. Fashioned on the Quest frame, this gorgeous stroller is suitable for babies from 3 months and up. Parasol and travel bag are included. "You need something bright and cheery after the lack of sleep that goes with having small children, so I wanted this buggy to be fun and lively," said Lulu Guinness via the Maclaren press information.
The Quest weighs in at a light 12.2 lbs and will retail for around $300. "Life’s a bed of roses" is embroidered on the front of the stroller. How cute is this stroller??? Click here to see the specs for the stroller. Click here to buy this stroller.
Shanghai Tang has also partnered with Maclaren to create a stunning design on the Quest frame. Trimmed in purple and inspired by the famous Shanghai Tang jackets, the stroller’s black exterior has a lime green lining splashed with the Shangahi Tang logos. Also weighing in 12.2 lbs, this stroller is one of the most beautiful strollers I have ever seen. The seat is removable and washable, and the hood is waterproof. A matching black footmuff with the lime green print is also available. It will retail for $400 and the matching footmuff is $90. This stroller is available right now at Shanghai Tang’s flagship stores in Hong Kong and New York, and should be available from other retailers soon.
