I am a nurse and it is very presumptuous for you to say that she is cancer-free. Most oncologists wait for a patient to show no symptoms or clinical evidence of cancer for 5 years before declaring them cancer-free. It would be far more appropriate for you to report that she is in remission, because if any, even a single cell, left behind can travel to her bones or her brain and metastasize. Out of respect for her children, you might change the posting so that even though the surgeon sounds confident, nothing is 100%.
