Rumor: Jennifer Lopez sidestepped pregnancy announcement

Rumors flourished recently claiming Jennifer Lopez, 38, and husband Marc Anthony, 39, intended to announce news of Jennifer’s pregnancy during their Madison Square Garden concert last night. Although they declined to make the announcement, Jennifer fueled the speculation today during an appearance on MTV’s TRL. She wore a loose-fitting mini-dress that convinced onlookers she might indeed be pregnant.

Although the couple refused to comment, TMZ announced last week that their sources claim Jennifer and Marc are expecting twins.

Darn it! I was really hoping that they’d either announce or deny their rumored pregnancy at that concert, to end the speculation once and for all! I just want to know whether she’s indeed pregnant or not! She does look pregnant, but because she herself (along with her rep and Mark’s publicist) denied it in a recent issue of US Weekly, I am hesitant to believe that the rumor is true.

I wonder why they still refuse to comment on it? Don’t get me wrong, I can completely understand celebs wanting to take the “Christina route” and not say anything, but Jennifer and Mark, especially Jennifer, don’t seem like the type who would be reluctant to announce a pregnancy (especially since Jen has been so desperate for a baby for awhile!). If she was still in her first trimester, then I could understand, but it’s pretty evident that if she is pregnant, she is most likely at 3 to 4 months along.

Perhaps the side show that was her relationship with Ben Affleck wised her up.

Regardless, it’s not as if their lack of an announcement will change anything. Let’s all agree she is knocked and move on.

If they are having a baby, she is not hiding it very well. If she is just gaining some weight and is not pregnant, these media sources, like TMZ, will not look good. I hope there right. A baby(ies) are always a blessing.

I’m very happy for Marc and Jennifer. They are just not ready to make an announcement if they make one at all. It’s their right if they choose not to make a statement. They never announced their marriage. I think she’s learned her lesson about feeding the media and just wants this to be a private time for them.

She appeared on Good Morning America in maternity wear again. If she is not pregnant, she should wear something close fitting or show off her 6 pack abs. I totally believe she is pregnant. It is clearly evident. All recent photos of her show her getting larger and larger. I understand her need for privacy, but the paparazzi are not going to leave her alone trying while trying to validate the rumours. Be like Halle, admit it and be happy and let your fans be happy with you instead of speculating.

Perhaps she and Marc think if they don’t admit the pregnancy they won’t be hounded around the due date? Can you imagine going into labor and having Paps following you for pictures? If there’s ever a time for privacy, that would be it.

Not that I don’t want confirmation.

At this point, she’ll probably be skinny and we’ll see pics of her and Marc with a baby (or 2!).

slm- I’m not entirely sure, but I think that The Insider is a pretty un-reliable source. At least, I don’t think CBB has ever used it as a source before (or if they have, they’ve marked information from their as Rumors). In any case, as quiet as Jen’s been up to now, I highly doubt she’d have told The Insider that she’s expecting (if indeed she is). If anything, I think she’d make an announcement herself (like it was speculated she would do at the concert), or tell a more reliable source, like People magazine. Also, if she is indeed pregnant with twins, chances are she’s not six months along yet. She’s probably more like 3-4 months along if she’s carrying twins.

Principesa- I would definently agree she was “knocked” (I put it in quotes because I personally don’t like that word, and used it only because I was quoting you)….If she, her rep, and Mark’s publicist hadn’t all denied it. Granted, her publicist is apparently now saying “no comment” or “I can’t confirm” (I don’t remember which), and I very strongly suggest that she is pregnant. However, unless she and/or Mark confirms it or it becomes obvious in other ways (as was the case with Christina, and with her I believed it sooner because, unlike Jennifer, she never denied it, and her mother confirmed it), I am not going to assume that she is. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt.
