The article is a bit confusing — I thought at first they were saying Paris’ parents were about 33 years apart in age. In reality they are about four. Just thought I’d throw that out there. (Makes her sound like slightly less of a golddigger IMHO!!!!!!)

Was this supposed to be only about Paris, or did Kathy just choose to only speak of 1/4 of her children?

When Paris’ mum and grandma thought she’d be ‘bigger than Diana’ then they obviously thought of Princess Diana at that time – the newly wed 20 year old, not the woman Diana became/turned out to be over the years that followed. Back in ’81, for the vast majority of people Princess Di was just a pretty girl who’d managed to pull a prince. Marilyn Monroe on the other hand… oh well. A young mother should be forgiven for bursting with pride and love for her first baby, and for whatever silly comparisons she might make.

Is it surprising that a mom would tell her daughter to marry rich? I know my mom did.

It would be great if there could somehow be documentation of her parenting of Paris- or if she could make a list of all the main things she did in her parenting. Then people who were about to become parents could just NOT do anything on that list! It is sad how shallow Paris is- she really has no capacity for deep thinking or insights. How does one raise a child like this? I wish I knew exactly so I could do whatever I could to not raise a shallow child.

*IMO*There are some things that celebs/families say, were they should have just kept quiet and this statement is one of the times, “marrying rich was the goal”, I’m sure this makes her husband soooo proud of their marriage.

It appears that she was speaking of her opinion when Paris was a baby… saying she was hoping the girl would grow up to do more than Monroe or Diana. I did not take it to indicate that she felt that Paris currently is doing more than that.

I also felt that Kathy indicated she wanted Paris to be “more famous” than the other women (or any women it seems…). She didn’t seem to indicate that she felt -how- they were famous as a factor in this at all.
