Mekhi Phifer is prepared to become a father (again)

Actor Mekhi Phifer, 32, whose first child with fiancé Oni Souratha, 34, is due in November, talked to OK! Magazine about being a father. Of Oni, he said,

She’s a beautiful woman. We’re engaged now and we’ll get married some time after the baby is born.

Mekhi has son Omikaye, 7, with ex-wife Malinda Williams, 31, and this time he is prepared.

I know what it takes and I’m looking forward to it. I have to be right there. With my first son I cut his umbilical cord and everything, so I’m a hands-on father, to say the least.

The couple is expecting a boy.
