Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson credits daughter for his accepting role

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 35, who can be seen in The Game Plan, thanks his daughter Simone Alexandra for his choice to accept the role in the movie.

I have a little 5-year-old girl (now 6), and when I first heard the pitch, I was in Prague shooting a movie and I hadn’t seen her in about three months.  It was the longest I’d ever gone without seeing her, and I missed her terribly. So the role of a man who has it all and yet is very lonely until he meets a little girl who calls him Daddy — it just really resonated with me.

Dwayne, a former professional wrestler with the WWE, is okay with fans wanting his autograph and picture, but his daughter has never really understood the fascination.

It took Simone a long time to understand why people want Daddy’s autograph.  I’d tell her and my wife would tell her, too, ‘People see Daddy in the movies and they are excited to meet him.’ But she couldn’t really grasp it.

Finally, with this movie, I think she understands what it means.  And there’s the cool factor because it’s a Disney movie.  Plus, I just did an episode of ‘Hannah Montana,’ so any amount of success I might have had is the past pales in comparison.  Now Daddy’s cool!

Dwyane and his wife, Dany Garcia, have recently separated.

I have that magazine and read that part. I thought it was cute how Simone just didn’t get the fuss over her father. In a way, it means the fame hasn’t really affected her much, which is good. :)

But I just love that photo of Dwayne and Simone. So adorable. ♥
