Peaches Geldof inks tribute to boyfriend on back

Peaches Geldof, 18-year-old daughter of Sir Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, reportedly tattooed the lyrics of a Nick Cave song across much of her lower back. The tattoo turned lyrics from Into My Arms, into a permanent inscription reading:

I don’t believe in an interventionist god. But I know, darling, that you do. But if I did I would kneel down and ask him. Not to intervene when it came to you.

Peaches chose the tattoo as a tribute to her boyfriend, DJ Fred MacPherson, a Nick Cave fan. No word on what Sir Bob thinks of the tattoo.

Her mom was known as an extremist, so it doesn’t suprise me, however if it were me I’d just put the lyrics in a pretty frame hand it to my boyfriend and hang it on the wall.

To each his own, I guess.

I’d suggest, if this is true, that the tattoo is in fact a tribute to her mother. ‘Into My Arms’ by Nick Cave was reported to be the favourite tune of Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates, and Nick Cave performed the song at their individual funeral in 1997 and 200 respectively.

I was going to say that Calire. :)

Nick Cave is a genius.

Yes, Nick Cave is a genius. I like the fact that he has not become mainstream, but he deserves more success than he has had. This man belongs right up there with Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. Mark Lanegan too.

Calire, I don’t think it’s a tribute to her mother, but it’s still an ironic twist that it was sung by Cave at her mother’s lover’s funeral.

Whether it was for her boyfriend or a tribute to her mom, she picked some great lyrics to get tattooed on her body.

So is Peaches kind of like the Paris Hilton of the UK? Famous for being a party girl with famous parents?

Nick cave sang “into my arms” at micheal hutchinson’s funeral. so its proberly a tribute to him and or her mother.
