Taylor Hawkins welcomes a son

We hear Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, 35, and his wife Alison welcomed son Oliver Shane recently. This is the first child for the couple. Oliver is Taylor’s actual first name — he just goes by his middle.

ummmmm….lol. If you go by Taylor and your name is actually ‘Oliver’, why ever would you pass that name on to your son? If he can’t even use it, himself…he must not like in some way.
Perhaps its a family name. Anyway, just struck me as funny.

Congrats to Taylor and his wife!

My neighbors have a family name Russell, that they give to every first boy, but the boy always goes by a middle name (all are different).

Also, they don’t post ANYTHING about their personal lives on foofighters.com, and if you ever mention it on their message boards, it gets erased and you get warned…so be careful….

I live near Dave Grohl and his house is currently for sale, and when I posted it there (I mean, he’s not there anymore, completely moved out and has been for awhile), they jumped on me about it…

Well, they post things, they mentioned when Chris had his son Liam and when Dave had Violet. But yes, they are very private, as they should be. Yay for Taylor.

PS – Some people just go by their middle names. I did for a very long time, and it was something my parents just started doing, I had no control over it.

I thought the same thing about his name. Same thing for Faith Hill. She uses her first husbands last name and then she names her THIRD daughter Audrey, her first name. NEVER got her thought process on that. What’s up w/ all that.

Yeah, the whole not mentioning personal lives was a personal request from Dave himself a few years ago.

& Taylor calls himself Taylor, after Roger Taylor of Queen, who is one of his idols.
