Philadelphia Eagles' Brian Dawkins is 'triple-blessed'
Philadelphia Eagles free safety, Brian Dawkins, 33, was interviewed recently by The Morning Call’s Gordie Jones.
Brian explained he received a ”triple blessing” — the health of his wife, Connie, and twin daughters, who were born two months premature, during his football offseason. He said,
It was real tough. It was very trying, for me and my wife — especially her.I was just on the outside, trying to comfort her, but she went through a lot with this pregnancy.
The twin girls, Chonni and Cionni, were born April 26 and weighed in at only three pounds at birth. They both remained in the hospital for almost a month. Brian was excused from the Eagles’ minicamps and was able to spend time with his family, which also includes son, Brian Jr., 10, and daughter Brionni, 7.
The girls are now healthy, home, and almost 5 months old, and Brian said he can savor ”being blessed with these little girls, to add to our family, and to finally have them completely healthy and out of the woods.”
