How Nicole and Joel will roll

Roddler1_4 Is it surprising that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are not settling for an off-the-shelf stroller for their baby-to-be?  No simple stroller life for these two. Come early January the little family will be hitting the streets in a totally tricked out custom Roddler from Kid Kustoms.

When it comes to cool strollers these built from the ground up beasts are the last word, the end of the discussion. They blow away the competition with their fine leather upholstery, custom paint,  sleek fenders and retro styling. But why stop there?  High tech upgrades for the little passenger include bluetooth technology, ipod docks, surround sound and more.

Such luxury does not come cheap. You’ll have to spend it like Beckham (who has reportedly also requested a custom Roddler) to get one of these hotties. Prices start at $2500 and go up depending on the features you choose for your custom built model. But look at it this way – you don’t have all that much time for riding your old chopper and enjoying expensive video gaming systems now that you are a parent, right? So why not get more flash for for your cash on a product you will actually use? Just proceed with caution on busy suburban streets. You don’t want all your neighbors to end up in traction due to rubbernecking-induced whiplash.

Proud owners can pat themselves on the back for doing some good in the world. Kid Kustoms donates a portion of their proceeds to 1% for the Planet.

I think it’s pretty fug. I can’t imagine trying to take that out to a typical retail store.

Maybe the sidewalks are wider in Beverly Hills.

let me guess you will did to cars/suv to care this thing one car for the childern and the next one foe the stroller.
how do you fit one of those in with the kids
what wiil they think of next

Can you say “travel like a rockstar!”. It’s really cute and original (and high tech)… I like it.

Cute stroller, but still it is a bit over the top! Looking that much like a chopper and a classic car, it looks like something you’d see on O.C.C. or West Coast Choppers, or the set of 80s retro-classics such as Back To The Future, Cry Baby, Hairspray, Edward Scissorhands, or PeeWee’s Playhouse! lol!

I am all for over the top baby items when you have over the top supplies of funding, but does this thing even fold up for riding in the car?

- Jillian on

What a great design! I hope it functions as great as it looks! For sure the little Ritchie-Madden baby will be comfortable!

Even though I find that much too extravagant, I think it’s cool and great that there are so many stylish accessories which reflect great design for babies and children. If I had the extra cash, I would get one just to collect!

This stroller needs its own trailer. I do not see how this stroller could fold and fit in the back of a car. For the majority of moms I don’t think its very functional.

I think it’s kind of ugly…and really unnecessary. But they have more money than god, so why not…

- Carrie on

It’s pretty ridiculous.

I mean, it looks cool but I can’t imagine that it handles well and trying to get it in/out of the car or through stores/crowds is probably difficult.

Besides, there are many places that you cannot bring your stroller in and are expected to leave it at the door (exhibits at the zoo, restaurants, etc). I get nervous leaving my $800 Mountain Buggy Urban Double. I can’t imagine leaving a stroller that cost over $2000!

I would never in a million years buy something that gaudy looking. It’s a stroller for goodness sake! I’m all for spending a little extra on baby gear if it means you’ll get what you pay for in safety and functionality, but this looks ridiculous. I honestly see the two of them pushing an Orbit around like everyone else.

I really don’t like it, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

Wow. Nicole has been known for her shopping so I expect to see her baby have the best, most unique, customized gear. Even if I had the money not sure this is how I’d want to spend it as I’d be more interested in function and not sure how functional this would be! Still, it’s fun to see the gear celebs pick.

- Charity on

ok, I agree that it’s WAY too expensive for a stroller…but on the other hand…if I had the money (enough to buy it and not blink) I’d probably completely get one too! I mean, come on…how freaking cool does that look? I mean, I’d ride in it! LOL

- jackie on

That is the ugliest stroller I have ever seen.
Even if you had that much money to spend whyy would you waste it on that?

The seat looks so uncomfortable for the baby, I believe it says its made of leather. The baby’s little legs are going to stick to it in the heat of summer.

The handle bar is metal, which will also get really hot in the summer and burn the poor baby’s hands.

AND theres no foot rest or basket underneath.

Parents these days are trying so hard to be “unique” and “hip”, that they’re forgetting whats really important; their baby’s comfort and safety. Its getting pretty ridiculous.

Are u sure they r getting this stroller b/c in another article it quote Madden talking about ging to Target and buying a paypen and stroller. Seems like two different extremes to me.

Sarah’s note: I think the company is probably gifting them with it — it’s not something they’re buying.
