Good interview

I have a lot more respect for Dayna after this interview. Obviously, since this is my favorite site, anyone who gives CBB an interview is golden in my book – but also because of her rare honesty. At first I wasn’t sure how to react to the publicity about her surgery, but this interview clarified a lot of things. I think part of being an empowered woman is the acceptance of certain truths, and if you can honestly accept the fact that you’re not happy with yourself (your body, your job, your family life etc) and do something to fix it, then I can respect that.

Dayna seems to have made the choice that was right for her, and I’m sure she won’t have any trouble raising her daughter to understand that healthy body image sometimes includes admitting that your not happy and taking the necessary steps to (healthily) fix it. Like she says, a LOT of celebrities have plastic surgery, and I think by denying it or hiding it, it only reiterates the fact that woman have to be ashamed of the fact that we are NOT born perfect and we have to work to look a certain way (if that is what we choose to do)

I admire her honesty, but a lot of this was quite sad, or even alarming to me. Particularly the parts regarding Emmi’s frequent meltdowns, the way she is with her brother, and crying at bedtime EVERY night. I understand all these things on some level are a part of parenting, but she speaks of them as being totally normal when in fact the extent sounds like concerning levels of acting out. Strong indications of serious attachment issues. And ignoring or distracting in response to a tantrum? What about discipline? I know that’s not always easy, but she seems to dismiss it entirely.

I liked the initial stuff I saw with her on here. I admire her willingness to be open about her surgery, the pressure to be thin, etc. Granted, she seems to take it for granted that the only answer is to indulge in surgery without even a thought given to perhaps reevaluating your values, but I appreciate the honestly nonetheless. I don’t mean to rip on her entirely, but I found this interview rather disturbing.

Is it just me or is anyone else bugged with this whole surgery thing? It’s all I’ve heard for two straight weeks. There are so many more important things to worry about than a little overlapping skin. I really can’t believe you printed this entire interview.

I thought a third pregnancy was announced by Devon on the program the View. She spoke of her husband being worried about the “Time Clock” issue

If I had a nanny to keep my kids occupied I probably would limit TV time a lot more….But alas, I don’t have a nanny and sticking in Winnie the Pooh is the only way I can get a shower when I’m taking care of my kids by myself! I think they’ll live…

Good for dayna for having her tummy tuck, if someone has the money and it makes you happy, I think once your done having kids go for it. Dayna is right a lot of celebrities get tummy tucks and other surgeries, yet when asked how they get toned they say oh just running after the kids and lie. Shanna moakler was honest enough to say on her last blog she has not had a tummy tuck or anything done yet, because she would like to have one more child, she said after that she will have everything done
