Richard Gere talks movies and baseball

ActorRichard Gere, 58, hasn’t seen many movies since the birth of his son, Homer, seven years ago, that aren’t kid friendly. In fact, Richard states,

When you have kids, you don’t see movies much. If you had the time and space in your life to see amovie, you’d probably rather spend it with your wife doing somethingelse. I see all the kids’ movies. That’s required. I liked the Toy Story movies and The Incredibles.

On July 29 of this past year, the father/son pair made the trip to Cooperstown, New York for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and it appears that Richard may have enjoyed the trip more. The Hunting Party star said,

My son is going into baseball, and down in the basement, there was oneof those gloves — it was Lou Gehrig’s — and it reminded me of the gloveI had as a kid. His was in 1920-something, and mine was a1950-something. I wish I had the baseball glove I had as a child. Itwas one of those very inelegant, fat gloves where all the fingers werefat and it didn’t have modern webbing.

Homer’s mom is Richard’s wife of nearly five years, Carey Lowell, 46.
