Tiger Woods to take a break from golf to spend time with daughter

Tiger Woods announced that he will be taking two months off from playing in golf championships to be with his wife, Elin, and their daughter, Sam Alexis, 3 months.  The 31-year-old said,

I just want to take some time off.

The PGA understands Tiger’s decisions and stands behind him 100 percent. PGA president Brian Whitcomb released the following statement,

While we are disappointed that the world’s No. 1 player will not be able to join us this year in Bermuda, we certainly understand and respect his decision to be with his family. Tiger has a long and successful history with the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and as a seven-time winner of this event, we are confident that we will see his participation in the future.

I don’t blame him at all for taking time off from golf to spend more QT with his daughter and wife. He’s been doing pro-golf for so long, I’d say it’s high time he take a break. I’m just glad to see PGA being so respectable.

Golf isn’t going anywhere. ;)

Wow. How refreshing to see a professional athlete take time off like this to be with his family.

Well just when I think that I think I can’t love Tiger more, he does something like this…and yes it’s something that all father’s should do, but I think we know that not all fathers DO IT…I adore Tiger and i knew he would be such an amazing father and he’s far exceeding any expectation…

It’s so refreshing to see an athlete father who has his priorities straight and knows what’s most important in life. Tiger knows that fatherhood is not the chore–the career is.

BRAVO to Tiger–and man i need to see some new pictures of Sam! haha she was SO CUTE when they showed her in the clubhouse of a tourney Tiger won!
