Petr Cech to welcome first child in January

Petr Cech is an international football player who currently plays for the Chelsea F.C. and while he may be considered one of the best goalkeepers that doesn’t compare to being a father.  The 25-year-old and his wife, Martina, 25, have learned that they will be expecting their first child in January.

Martina recalls her and her high school sweetheart’s reaction when they learned about the pregnancy.  She said,

I just stood in the bathroom screaming with joy when the pregnancy test was positive. I didn’t say anything to Petr — he knew straight away from my reaction a baby was on its way. He just kept asking if I was sure.

What kind of father will Petr be?  He is curious about that also.  He said,

I’m curious as to what sort of father I’ll be. I’m really looking forward to it. I want my children to find their own way in life and to be their own person. That’s exactly the way I was raised by my parents and I will always be grateful to them for that.

As to whether the couple would like a boy or a girl, Martina says,

Petr wants a little lady, whereas I’d like a son. The child will probably be good-natured like its father and level-headed like me.
