Family to play a part in whether Brad Ausmus continues playing baseball

Brad Ausmus could return to the Houston Astros for another year instead of retiring but the 38-year-old has a lot to consider.  One of the main things is his wife, Liz, and their daughters, Sophie, 9, and Abby, 8.

My oldest daughter wants me to keep playing, I think. I don’t think my younger daughter cares. My wife, I think, would probably support me in whatever decision I made. But I have to consider them more now at this point than I have at any other. My kids are getting older. They’re 8 and 9 [years old] now, but I could blink and I’ll be at their high school graduation. I don’t want to miss out on everything.
