Featured Review: 22 Weeks Pregnant – Lauren Kiyomi's Fall Collection

Maternity clothes are made so stylish by designer Willie Udagawa’s fall collection for her label, Lauren Kiyomi – named after her daughter. Willie, a mom of two, launched her line in October 2005.  Lauren Kiyomi (Japanese for pure beauty) is a very popular choice for moms-to-be.

Very heavy in the plum, black and chocolate tones, these pieces are perfect for work or play (though in a fab restaurant or social event). The company says, "Being pretty should never end" and these gorgeous clothes inspire that! 

The company was kind enough to send me two pieces. The first piece is the stunning Basket Weave Dress ($96). Pair it with some opaque tights or leggings, its perfect for the office or a party. This jersey dress has a basket weave detail under the bust line. The banded sleeves hit at the elbow (great for someone like me who is hot all the time, especially when I’m pregnant). Sizes run from XS to XL and the colors available are plum (we saw this rich, deep color), chocolate, black, silver and teal. We also saw the Banded Scoop Neck Top (was $80, on sale for $20) in the rich, chocolate brown color. This jersey top has a scoop neck and shirring over the bust. It hits mid-thigh and has a back tie sash. Besides the chocolate color, it comes in Taboo blue (a royal blue), black, navy, tutti fruit and wheat.   

Some of my other favorites things from this collection was the delicate Lacy Mommy Top ($76) and the darling Jersey Kimono Dress with Satin Sash ($96)- this kimono inspired dress is available in black with a purple satin sash, black with champagne sash, black with red sash and navy with a red sash.  I’m also loving the Printed Chiffon Dress ($100) – comes in a blue/brown or red print and the sash ties in either the front or back. Also cute cute Rhinestone Puff Sleeve Top (was $64, reduced to $20), featured on last season’s "Notes From the Underbelly" on ABC.
