Hermione Norris and husband welcome their own "Hero"

Actress Hermione Norris and her husband, Simon Wheeler, recently welcomed daughter Hero.  She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces.  The name Hero comes from the lead character in the play Much Ado About Nothing. Simon said of his new daughter, that the couple is "absolutely thrilled."

The couple also have a son, Wilf, 3.

Hermione, who is currently filming The Kingdom, left production for the birth and is expected to return to work in September.

Gorgeous! My son is also named after one of Shakespeare’s characters – Oberon!

Agh! I so SO THRILLED that someone finally named their kid Hero! I think I actually squealed when I saw that! It’s one of my all-time favorite names.

Congrats to the well-named family!

I like Hero better for a boy but it’s still a great name. Does Wilf have a meaning? I’ve never heard of the name.

She’s from Cold Feet right? Great series!

I loved her in “Cold Feet” and am so happy she had another baby. Congrats!

i agree with you CandiceC!
i have loved the name hero since high school!
hero is such a sweet & beautiful character in much ado about nothing.

so cute!

Wilf is often the short form of Wilfred which means ‘Will Peace’
I think this little guy is just called Wilf though not Wilfred.

Haha You dont even want to know what i use the word “wilf” for! But i love the same Hero. Its so cute maybe she can team up with Moxie Crimefighter :)

I’m not a fan of the combo ‘Hero Wheeler’ I don’t think it rolls off the tongue very easily, Hero is an interesting name, but sounds a bit more masculine though.

she’s an incredible actress- i LOVE “cold feet”! congrats to her!

Hi all,

So when Jordan calls her baby Princess she gets slated but Hermione calls her Daughter “Hero” and everyone thinks its lovely? Ok its not my cup of tea but each to thier own.

Sarah

That’s because Hero is an actual name, Sarah. With a legitimate onomastic history and deep literary roots.
