Heidi Klum on raising her children in LA

Heidi Klum has said she’s determined to give her children a stable upbringing. As a result of her decision, the model has turned down offers to work outside of Los Angeles, where she lives with husband, singer Seal, and their three children, Leni, 3, Henry, 23 months, and Johan, 9 months.

Before, it was all about me. Now it’s about the children. I try to stay in one place and make everyone come to me. Like my agent called and said he had a job in Australia that’s really good money. But I don’t care. I don’t want to go. I have to make a rhythm for my children here and in LA.

According to Forbes, Heidi, 33, currently ranks number three on their list of top earning models worldwide, earning $8 million last year.

Maybe by “here” Heidi meant the US in general where the time zones are not as different as LA-Austrailia? Because even if she is usually in LA and tries to do most of her work in that area, her Project Runway involvement is New York-based, which is probably what she referred to when she said “here and in LA” – New York and LA. Either way, good for her for thinking of her kids’ need for stability.

Jeanette and Taylorbee, actually that quote is incomplete. She mentions that she wants her children to have stable live both in NY and La.

As far as I remember couple years ago she said they will move out the country and living in Mexico or Europe, cause it’ll be better for their kids !

Good for her for trying to provide some stability. However, she still seems to find time to jet back and forth to Germany (and other locations abroad) a lot – and no, not on family business, but for “Germany’s Next Top Model” (season 3 is under way). So why not go to Australia too?

i think she goes to germany because she is form germany and her family is there its very different to australia where is just her, seal and the kids in germany is her family.

i don’t think heidi klum will come back to germany to live here. she could, but i just don’t think she will. too much publicity, too much trouble for seal…i think it doesn’t matter WHERE she lives though as long as she – just like she said – tries to stay in one place (at least for a while) for her children to have a certain rhythm and to be able to make friends and establish a feeling like “home”.
