Update: Tom Brady at hospital with flowers

Update: Tom Brady has been spotted arriving at a Los Angeles hospital with flowers…no news yet!

Update 3 pm: Tom was not at practice today(although he missed practice last week as well), sparking rumors thatBridget could be in labor. Bridget’s rep says that she hasn’t heardanything and has no news to report.

Originally posted August 20th: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady,30, made an appearance on WEEI’s radio program this morning to talkfootball — but of course, his impending arrival with actress Bridget Moynahan,36, was a topic of discussion as well. (Yes, she’s still pregnant –she was spotted on Sunday out and about.) As we previously reported,Tom is planning to fly out to Los Angeles to be there for his child’sarrival.

I’m certainly going to get there, and try to be there for the birth; it will be a great experience.

I’m certainly not the only player that has a family or is going to be afather. There’s a lot guys who bring their kids out there every day.That’s very demanding being a parent and being an athlete as wellbecause you have commitments to your team and certainly a lot of peoplemake sacrifices for their family. A lot of people do. I’m dealing witha certain situation, a very joyous, happy situation.

Tomalso mentioned he’ll be taking a few days off after the baby makes itsdebut, if Coach Belichick allows it — and he probably will. Likeeveryone else, the Brady family is anxiously awaiting the arrival. Whenpressed about the baby’s due date and when Tom’s expecting ‘the call’that it’s time to fly out, he said,

Oh, no. I wish I did [know when the baby is coming]. That’s God’s decision. That’s theGood Lord that’s making that call. I think everybody’s anxious. I’llput it that way.  [smiles] 

I know [about the false rumored due date of July 20th]. I realizethat. I’d just like to keep that stuff…that’s very private to me.I’ve talked to my family and soforth. Like I said, you all know it won’t be hard to figure out when ithappens. If I always responded to…every time somebody saidsomething, I’d be talking all the time. 

I’m an uncle and I know what it’s like to be an uncle. My niece hasbeen up here the last few weeks. My family is extremely close to me,with three older sisters and loving parents and supportive parents, Ithink everybody is anxious.

Great. I knew he would be there. I couldn’t imagine, with his family being as close as they are, that he wouldn’t.

All this to-do about nothing from strangers who think they know exactly what “happened” between them. They don’t, nobody does. What we “see” from tabs, the paps and read in the press does NOT tell the whole story.

Good to hear they’re being adults about the whole thing.

I have always felt compelled to say something regarding Tom Brady, but never actually followed through with it. I’ll come in and read blogs, totally forgetting to comment! Anyway, I haven’t felt that Tom was out of the spotlight of this whole baby thing. Yes, he may be going out with some hot Brazilian model but that does not mean that Bridget will be sitting there in front of the television with their child saying “there’s your daddy” while receiving child support in the mail! I’m due in November and really, throughout my pregnancy, I’ve learned a lot about men and their mindset. The father of my child and I aren’t together and weren’t together when I told him. He did his own this and I’ve been well… have been being pregnant! It’s was really all nerves working with him finding out he’d be a father and now. I’d receive the ‘how are you doing’ phone call, but really, he was distant throughout my second tri. one day, he opened up a little about the whole thing saying that he’s happy to be a father, but didn’t want to make me believe we were going to start a relationship solely based on having baby! now, in the third tri, he’s so excited about childbirth classes and has been there for all the ultrasound appointments; I really didn’t need him through all the testings to be honest! We’re hanging out all the time, he’s been a great support. Amazing how things can turn around when you give someone breathing room to fathom the situation. Men and women are on completely different ends when it comes to pregnancy. When you’re pregnant and not together, you never want to lead another person on – especially a hormonal female – and that’s what I’ve learned from him in this situation. While there are many dead beat dads in this world, there will still always be the few that will fulfill their duty to be a man and show a lining of chivalry.

I don’t think people believe that they know exactly what happened between Tom and Bridget, anymore than they know what type of family he has or what his plans are for the birth. It’s all just speculation until something is said.

I sure hope he does step up with this, and does not bring Gisele around. What the baby needs is love and tranquility. Tom needs to be a man and be there, and not just hey, write a check. Bridget will be an EXCELLENT Mother! She just seems like the type that will never let this baby be in doubt of anything.

I’m certainly not willing to give Brady a pass simply because he is “going to try and be there”. I think he should have been more supportive of Bridget and conscious of her feelings during the pregnancy.

If Tom is dating Gisele and going to be part of this baby’s life, then isn’t it better that she part of it from the start? No reason she should be blamed for any of this. Tom and Bridget seem to be handling this like mature adults, so the baby will only know what it grows up with and having 3 supportive parents (be they step parents or not) is just as beneficial as having two – if not more so! I have been blessed with 4 wonderful parents and hate being labeled a child of divorce. If my parents hadn’t divorced, i’d be out two wonderful parents and living with two miserable ones! Good luck to all of them, especially Baby Brady (and poor Bridget who does seem to have been pregnant an awfully long time!

I really think Tom Brady has gotten a bad rap in this situation. It’s amazing how judgemental people can be when we don’t know the facts or circumstances regarding the breakup. We don’t know how involved Tom has been in Bridget’s pregnancy. They were broken up when they found out that Bridget was pregnant. Part of breaking up is moving and he did with Gisele. Anyway, whatever the case may be, I applaud him for not doing an “Eddie Murphy” and at least appearing to be responsible. Everything is going to work out for all parties involved.

Hmm..the fact that Bridget is still pregnant makes me think that Mr. Brady should get a paternity test done after this kid is born. The longer she is pregnant, the less it adds up that this kid is his, since they seemed to have “broken up” around the same time she got pregnant. Just my opinion.

Tom seems to be happy as does Bridget. Facts are in and since this baby has not come yet, it is obvious they broke up without knowing of the pregnancy. The breakup was released to US in early December saying they broke up a few weeks ago, that makes the breakup mid November. Tom Brady has been a class act from day one and I am sure he will be a great Dad. Why marry a girl you don’t love. I think he did the right thing, I really do. I am sure he will be the best Dad he can be with her moving all the way to LA.

How long is safe for baby and mom.
It was reported her due date was Aug 10.

Wouldn’t her Dr. be recommending inducement at this point?

Sarah’s note: Maybe, but we’ve heard Bridget would prefer to go natural. Anywhere from 38-42 weeks is considered a normal pregnancy. Going over 42 is usually discouraged because of risk of stillbirth, low amniotic fluid, or an aging placenta.

My only problem with the quotes he gave to the globe, is that he made them at all. I have so respected how this couple has kept their private matters out of the public arena. I think its great when a no longer together couple is adult and wprks tgether for the sake of the child…although just in trying to imagine the situation (and as someone who invites nobody but my husband to the delivery room) not in any attempt to exclude the father — but I don’t know that I’d WANT an ex in the delivery room. (in the hospital, sure, to visit shortly after birth) It is so intimate and personal — I can’t imagine being able to do it.

I had a baby last month…was 5 weeks early. My due date was supposed to be August 12 and since we’ve been trying to have a baby, I used one of those ovulation kits back in November. I know for a fact that my baby was either conceived on November 22 or November 23. So if Bridget’s due date was closed to mine, her baby was also conceived around that time, which means that Tom and her were still together around Thanksgiving. When did they announce their break-up?

Sarah’s note: The announcement was made December 14th that they had split up ‘several weeks ago,’ with many reporting that the split occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday.

It would be nice to know the whole story but I’m sure we never will. It does seem odd that she got pregnant right before they broke up. It sounds like she wanted a baby & he didn’t. Maybe she told him she was on the pill & just stopped taking them??

I think it is great that they seem to be able to work this out together. If a couple is not happy together you can’t stay together just because she is pregnant. I don’t know why everyone rags on Tom he didn’t do anything wrong it’s a bunch of speculation on the everyones part that is not personally involved. Anyways they were talking about this on the radio this morning (I live in MA where the Patriots are) and everyone is freaking out because he wants to take the time off and the first official game is in a couple of weeks. It is Tom’s baby, and I do think he has every right to be there when his baby is born. If I were in Bridget’s shoes I would want the father of my baby there so that there was that connection with the father right from birth.

I’m no Brady fan, but I have to agree with Devon. The baby is just as much a part of him as Bridget. He has a right to see this child be born. If I were her, I would want him to see me labor to bring our child into the world. I would also want the bonding process to begin at birth between father & child. Women get to start that bonding as soon as they feel the baby kick. Men need to see the birth actually take place. I wish them both much luck and happiness with their new baby.

Seriously, you think he has the RIGHT to be there? Wow. I do not agree at all. I guess things are different here in Sweden because NOBODY has the RIGHT to be in the delivery room with the mother to be unless she’s a prisoner or a druggie and social services need to be there. It’s up to the mother to decide who will accompany her when she delivers. Nobody has the right to be there. That’s just silly. Birth is a very personal thing. The mother does not have to allow the father to be there if she doesn’t want him to.
